Default Anyone still trying for Bub number one after multiple failed cycles

    Hey all!

Just feeling a little alone on this crazy journey, that is IVF and looking for people in a similar boat.

DH and I are still trying for Bub one after 3 years. We are currently in the middle of our 7th cycle and have never seen those two pink lines.

Sometimes it's hard to stay positive and I always wonder that maybe it will never happen for us.

Is anyone going through a similar thing? How do you stay positive?

I'd also love to hear you success stories, if you had a long road and then finally got your dream.

    All the best everyone!

Hi there, I just wanted to say that although this is not my situation, my friend is now 24 weeks pregnant from her 8th IVF cycle, it's a tough slog but there is hope!

Her tip would be to be active and proactive in your treatment, research and question everything! They had male factor, PCOS, and immune issues, which through trial and error and changing clinics, they have succeeded with a BFP.

I wish you all the best! xxx

Thanks @Chooky79 - congratulations to your friend...it's always nice to hear people's success stories!

We've recently changed clinics and been diagnosed with immunological issues fairly recently too, so hopefully these changes will help get us our BFP.

Do you know what treatment plan they had on their successful cycle?

Hi, m also trying for bub no 1. On a bit of a break at the moment, but will be going for 4th transfer when we start up again. I was lucky in that I had quite a few embies make it to day five.
Getting one to stick is another matter, and Ive had a miscarriage due to a trisomy. Im not sure whats wrong- I figure if I can get embies to day 5 then it is likely me that is the issue.
Will be doing a endo scratch before next transfer, hoping it will change the outcome.
After that I will see out our frozen embies and then change clinics to shake things up a bit.

Sorry to hear of your miscarriage @Jk565. I can only imagine how difficult that has been for you guys.

Good luck with those frosties though - I hope you get your bubba soon.

Have you been tested for immunological issues at all?

No testing for immune issues yet.
My clinic doesn't really go down that path, so if and when we change clinic, it will be to one that is more agressive on testing and investigations.
I see your new doctor has diagnosed immune issues, can I ask how they tested for this? Did they say why they tested for immune issues ? ( I'm trying to get a feel for if this could be our issue?)

@Jk565 - we had 5 failed cycles with our last clinic (mix or fresh and FET). And I have never had a BFP.
Originally we thought we were just up against MFI issues, as my specialist was great and had tested for lots of things on my side to, we tried both down reg and antag cycles, I had a d&c to help with implementation etc Nothing worked.

A friend then recommended us to a new doctor because he tests for things "outside of the box" and is great for people who have had repeated implementation failures like us, or repeated miscarriages.

He tested for high level NK cells and Matching Dq alpha genes - both of which may cause your body to "fight off" embryos - it was found we have both issues.

The tests were bloods and a cervical biopsy (which I'm not gonna lie - was horrible!) there is an extra cost for the tests, because they are not standard.

Treatment for the NK cells involves suppressing the immune system with dexo and an intralipid IV.

For the matching DQ alpha I had to have my DH blood injected under my forearm!

Pretty crazy stuff, but we will try anything if it works!

Unfortunately first go with the new protocol was unsuccessful, but I have my FET on Friday so hopefully it's better luck then!

    @freakedout44

we just had our 5th FET failure total of 7 blastos only one made it to BFP but ended in M/C ... we're 8 years on our journey for baby no1

Have just changed clinics for the 3rd time, was hoping thats all we needed with this latest FET ( we transferred our final 2) but no such luck...

So frustrating and heartbroken... not to mention we've also been taken for a ride inbetween by a shonk "doctor" and am now going through a courtcase to make things even harder...

So I get it... you are so not alone.. Xxx
@Jk565 as someone who's been around this crazy merrygo round, wasted so much time and money ... don't feel like you have to stay with the clinic you're at if they're not happy to look outside the square, get EVERYthing tested and throw the gauntlet at it... because I look back now and wish I could have been more aggressive & assertive and not just taking "theres nothing wrong"

@Tanej78 - you've been on such a long road you poor thing You must be an incredibly strong woman to keep picking yourself back up. I hope your baby dreams come true soon.

Can I ask what your fertility troubles are and what your court case is about?

Wishing you the best of luck and thanks for sharing your story xx
