My waters broke while in bed both times. Both times I managed to get up and make a mess of the floor not the bed. Labour started after that spontaneously - DS2 much quicker than DS1

But my waters did dramatically break while I was innocently sitting on the couch watching a movie. (366 days later and I still haven't seen the end of that movie!)

I'd wondered where you'd been @tazz475, you sort of burst onto the BH scene then disappeared a bit this year. Hope all is going well with your pregnancy
That means your DS is 1?!😳 how did that happen!!

During dinner started to get light contractions that intensified over night and through the next day. Waters didn't break til I was in hospital a few hours before bub arrived.
Our antenatal class midwife had told us to carry around a bottle of apple juice so if our waters broke in the supermarket we could pretend it was just juice

It was 3am but I wasn't able to sleep, so just in bed, awake, when my waters broke.
It was the roughly the same time with my DS too, except my waters didn't break, but contractions started while I was in bed trying to sleep, starting at 15 minutes apart.

Just getting into bed, leaned over to turn out the light and felt a "pop"... And so it began.
