I've been reading along with this thread, so much information. We have decided to go down the egg donor path. We started 2 years ago but it was to much after the IVF fails and we just needed a break. So we are back on it now.
We have decided to go with Serum and have been speaking to Peny. At this stage we are hoping for early April fingers crossed.
I have a question that I hope you can help me with. Peny has asked that I request my Dr to do a hysteroscopy, which I'm happy to do. I just wanted to ask for those that have done it was it worth it and also what was the cost to have it done here in Australia? Any information would be great.
I will now get back to reading this thread to catch up with where you are all at.
    Thank you ladies.
Welcome! I am currently 7.5 weeks pregnant after going to serum for DE IVF so you are in excellent hands! Where do you live? I had mine done by my previous FS in genea (Sydney) - think it may have been a little less than $1000 but can check

Thanks so much ladies. $1000 is nothing in the scheme of things. Peny said if my specialist won't do it here to have an aqua scan there and if all ok go forward with the transfer and if not she would freeze the embryos and do a hysteroscopy there and I would come back for a couple of days on my next cycle and do the transfer. I must say I just like love Peny she is by far the most helpful person I've dealt with in this industry.
Chillout71 7.5 weeks how awesome so happy for you. I'm in Melbourne and my FS is great so hopefully it all just falls into place.

Hi kitkats yes, it has been a tough journey like for all of us who have had so much disappointment. I am so happy and keeping fingers crossed all goes perfectly from here! I agree about Penny, she is a very caring woman - that stood out when I first spoke to her.

    Hi Ladies,
Just wandering, post transfer, did you purchase your medications from Greece, online or within Australia? Also, can you provide an estimate of the costs associated?
    Many thanks x

@GiaBub you'll want to get your progesterone over there, it's extremely cheap, the estrogen etc is relatively cheap to get from here if you can get your script written up by your doctor

    Hi GiaBub

Defeintly purchase there, they crazy cheap boxes of progesterone 6.5 euro. Progynova is still pretty cheap In Australia so that one I wouldn't worry to much about but is cheaper in Greece.

Hi @Kitkats I also had a hysteroscopy in melbourne with FS Lynn B. Personally I found that the next OE transfer worked given that it implanted. My fees werent much, $500 for hospital admission excess then $250 i think for anaesthitist.
I'm heading over to Athens in exactly four weeks time and I'll be having an endometrial scratch Monday week. Other friends have had success after the hysteroscopy.
Good luck to all the new ladies to the forum. Its such a positive and supportive group.

Like the other girls have said - buy your progesterone over there. You don't need a prescription, all the chemists speak some English and it's way cheaper. AND their pessaries (utrogestan) are much nicer to use than the waxy Australian ones. I prefer the Australian oestrogen (progynova) to the Greek version (cyclacur) because you get more in the packet with cyclacur, half the sheet of tablets are sugar pills or something (like the pill here) and you don't take those ones.

She's awesome hey :-D. You'll find that all the staff there are just lovely. It's so nice to deal with an IVF provider that is empathetic and compassionate as well as clever! Fair to say some of those Greek clinics leave the Aussie ones for dead.

I'm from Melb too, so if your FS won't do the Hysteroscopy, mine will.
