Hi Lailabelle - I think I reduced gradually, but I was on very high doses. The placenta has taken over by 12 weeks, but in my view you don't want your body to have any big sudden changes. If your clinic (or OB) has said to stop all at once, maybe you could discuss with them if there is any value in doing it gradually instead?

Have you contacted Dr Nikos? Maybe ask him what he recommends?

Hi @Laiylabelle - congrats on getting to 12weeks (feels like such a big milestone!)
I was super nervous about stopping the meds despite being so over it all, from memory I reduced to from 3 to 2 per day from 11 weeks then 1 per day at 12 weeks then stopped completely at 13 weeks. I had scans at 10 weeks, 12 weeks and then again at 14 weeks and my OB here was absolutely fine with me reducing the dose rather than stopping - although she did tell me that by 10 weeks the placenta takes over!

    Hope that helps!

Thanks Jamellabeth! Yes I'm scared to stop the meds too! Lol
I just checked with Dr Nikos and he said just stop completely at week 12 so hasn't recommended a gradual decrease. It's just I've read a lot of girls lowered their doses so i panicked a bit. I have run out of progynova now anyway. That does reassure me though, thank you! I just hope my body is doing what it should by now! 😊

    Default Costs

    Hi Ladies!
for those of you asking about costs etc, I just went back to my posts while I was in Greece and at the time this is what I posted re costs:

For those interested in costs and when to pay etc:
    Day 1 - 3000 cash to Dr K
    Day 4 - 2000 on card to Dr K
Day 5 - 756 on card to pharmacy for Donors meds
Day 4 - 48 on card to pharmacy for my meds
Optional on last day- 48 on card to pharmacy for meds (extras to take home)
    total = 5852 euros

Obviously on top of that were airfares and accom (+spending money!!!!)
The costs will change ever so slightly for the donor meds and Dr K depending on you individual needs etc.

I just had another Skype with dr k too! Looking good for late March😄. I have started looking at AirBnB and have found something two minutes away from the clinic. I can't book anything yet because I have to make sure my cycle is on the right time so I hope everything is still available when it comes time to book.

99% of the people in Athens speak English due to tourism. No issues there. Pack like any other holiday. May will be getting warm. Are you planning to head to any of the islands after your transfer? It's so easy to organise and do.
