    Thank you Kategc.

I must admit, I have put no thought into the clinic till now either. My husband happened to stumble on this forum recently and all the feedback has made me wonder if we are going to the right clinic. We are simply going to Genesis as that is the one that our specialist recommended.

I like everyone is after a good outcome so stats are important to me but bedside manner after years of grief and loss are important too so I was disappointed to see the feedback on Genesis.

Thanks so much for your feedback. Hearing about people's experiences is comforting. It's cathartic to know we are not alone in this journey.

    Hi @chinadoll14
I have no experience with Genesis (only what I've heard and that steered me away)
I contacted 2 clinics Embryoland and serum both replied with a day, and within a week or so I had a skype call with Dr K and my decision was made!

The whole experience with Embryoland was fantastic, friendly, professional and honestly there was hardly any waiting time, I even saw Dr K after hours (I don't think there is normal working hours!) I've never meet anyone so passionate about making babies!

As you probably know I am now 18 weeks with twins on our very first try - so we are beyond happy!

When we were there (Sept) Dr K said his success rate was around 67% within 2 transfers.
We also paid everything on card expect for the donor which was 3000 euros, it was all very professional and smooth. There were absolutely no hiccups and I would do it all again tomorrow if I needed to!

Dr K is just a beautiful man and his staff are exactly the same!

It was. I'm over 10 weeks pregnant with a donor egg with my husband's sperm. I had an Endoscratch with Dr Warren in Brisbane a month before I left for Athens. I was also on a range of bioceuticals vitamins including the InNatal, coq10 ubiquinol - which is very expensive but well worth it. Dr Warren recommend my husband take the coq10 too. It improved his sperm morphology from less than 1 to 5. He was taking it daily for 6 months though. Zinc, extra folic acid, vitamin c powder, also magnesium powder. Vitamin A, E and fish oil liquid. Some will say I over did it but I'm pregnant and that's all that matters now. I'm only taking the InNatal, folic acid, iron and fish oil liquid now though. We loved the fact dealing with Dr Nikos direct. He's a very busy man but he'll always make you feel welcome. We were only required to be in Athens for 5 to 7 nights. We stayed 6. Was enough for us. I believe the other clinics request you to stay longer. At the end of the day, you need to go where and what feels comfortable. Good luck.

Thanks Jamellabeth. Where did you hear feedback about Genesis? Was it here or elsewhere also?

I should add when we were at Dr Nikos' clinic, we met a lady from Perth who was in the process of a donor egg cycle with Serum and was very unhappy. This was her second cycle with Serum and she told us things were not adding up and she didn't trust them. I'll never know what happened but the poor lady was so stressed. Glad I didn't go to Serum.

If bedside manner is important to you, I would recommend going somewhere other than Genesis. I didn't realise I needed bedside manner until I went to Genesis (I'm a pretty robust character!). We got 10 minutes with Dr Pantos after waiting 5 hours. Two weeks later, on the day of transfer, instead of waiting in the room with me (I was there alone at the time) while the embryologist brought the embryos, Dr Pantias stood on the other side of a curtain (I could see his shoes). He was pleasant for the few minutes the transfer took, then he was gone. I left the clinic and never heard from them again. The nurse who was my contact prior to transfer mixed up my meds, didn't return my calls, didn't tell me when plans changed, was very haphazard. Was a nightmare! But maybe I was unlucky.

That's a shame and I must defend serum here - I have been delighted with them and absolutely 100% trust them. Currently 5 weeks pregnant with donor egg and partner's sperm and felt very cared for and supported throughout.

Gosh - I've never heard that about Serum (and I did a lot of research on the UK where Serum dominates the market a bit). Of course, no clinic is the perfect place for every patient - and let's be honest, just like every path in life, there are some right nutters out there getting IVF treatment! I had a bad experience at Genesis, others at Embio, someone else had a bad experience at Embryoland, the Perth lady at Serum ...

My personal experience of Serum has been superb, they were heaven to deal with, I trust them implicitly (after all, my baby boy is just perfect! :-), and all the people I know that have gone there have got pregnant within 2 attempts at most.

It is a reminder to us all to be careful which clinic we pick and to pick the clinic that suits us, and not be overly influenced by what other people say we should do. We are all very protective of our clinics and tend to think ours is the best, but it really is a horses for courses thing.
