I just hope that I get a packet of oregano chips in the mail soon

Your numbers sound great Jamellabeth ! quads eh ?? hahah

Im 29 weeks now and bubby is still kicking and giving me heartburn. Two months to go !! eeeek !! I'll be having my baby shower soon...

To the new girl, I forgot your name, asking about which clinic is good, it's obvious that the #1 clinic in Greece is Embroyland. I'm biased, since I love Dr Nikos Kanakas and his team are fantastic. If you want personalised service by the doctor that is treating you, who speaks great english and really wants you to get pregnant, go with Dr Kanakas. I'm so glad I did! I couldnt speak more highly of him. If you do the maths, a lot of girls on this forum are getting pregnant through him. He is a wonderful person and a very good doctor, not a greedy money making machine like some of the ones we have here in Australia. I did 9 ivfs here with my own eggs, and nobody did ultrasound guided transfer except for Dr Kanakas, and he saw that my uterus was thicker on one side and thats where he placed my little boy to grow. I feel blessed and I hope everyone that is in his care gets pregnant and has a beautiful baby !! I only wish I did ivf with my own eggs in Greece with him, my only regret to this day.

    Good luck girls.

Ok girls update. Im back from weekend in London and had two beautiful Embies put back better than any of my ivf in Sydney. Dr Nikos is just as great as you all said. Will let you know how I go. We leave Sunday.

Jamellabeth this is so great but definately I expect more than one on your ultrasound.

    Hi Girls....

    So much news! Exciting!!

Jamellabeth: Congratulations! So happy for you. Will be waiting to hear just how many are in there!! LOL re your husband... but I think mine would be freaking out too!! Can you imagine quads??? Oh boy.

Brim: Great to hear its confirmed twins!! Wishing you all the best for a healthy, smooth pregnancy.

Kcraig: Good luck - got everything crossed for you that you get a BFP too!

Vix: Just so you know, I was not comparing our cyst situations at all..... It was just the word cyst that reminded me of everything I went through in the past. Remember, I had stopped all IVF for a long while and thought this was all behind me. But here I am again. Doing this through Skype with the Dr and without the horrible stim injections, I forgot that things don't always go perfectly. "Cyst" reminded me!!! Anyway, I'm certain you are in good hands with Serum/Penny and that everything will turn out for you.

I fly out on Monday and will see Dr K on Tuesday when we arrive!! I am trying very hard not to get my hopes up and to just think positive at the same time. I can't believe its finally here. I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes and I have a strange sense of relief in that if it doesn't work this time, I know I can do it again (could not have done it 2x here, its too expensive and takes too long to find a donor). So I'm calm....as much as I can be in this situation!!

All the best to the fabulous ladies on this thread and much thanks too. Regardless of the outcome, I would not even be doing this had I not found you!

He is fabulous isn't he @kcraig - just so different from any other specialist I've ever met!
I've got everything crossed and triple crossed for you! Dr K's success rate at the moment is through the roof so the odds are stacked in your favor! Now its time to rest, relax and have fun (laughing is good for blood flow!!!)
Do you have any on ice?

My scan is in 2 weeks (deep breath!) so i just have to pray that I hear a strong heartbeat!

    Default First Post

    Hi Everyone

New member here but have lurked around for a while!

I was really happy to find this thread and find a whole community of people who have been/are going through what I'm about to.

I first spoke to Dr Nikos last year and was suppossed to have treatment there this year but life commitments etc all got in the way!

We are having our first proper Skype with him tomorrow and have already booked flights and accommodation for next year. Initially we had planned to go with another clinic, but once i found Embryoland and read everything about it, it just seemed like the right fit.

We were initially dealing The Fertility Centre and had gone through all the tests and counselling, however we really didn't feel comfortable with their manner and the way they run things (and the dealings with Melb IVF were very cold and unprofessional). They all seem quite happy for you to hand over your credit card for payment but was amazing that Dr N picked up on some things in our tests (that I had to pay Melb IVF for copies of!!) that TFC didn't even mention. We will never go with treatment within Australia.

So I've only got a couple of questions as this journey is very new for us. We won't be using donor eggs, just the normal way at the moment!

Can they time or retime my cycle for when we are due to arrive in Greece? As we have already booked everything due to work I normally get my period on the 1st of the Month but we won't arrive in Athens until the 5th.

How many days total will we need to be there?

For those of you after the treatment did you spend further time in Europe or did you fly straight back? We are planning on another 4 weeks in Europe after the treatment is finished.

Thanks...and again very happy to have found this and to hear of everyone's experiences whether positive or negative.

    Hello Juventina - welcome :-)

They will be able to time the commencement of your medicated cycle but they will only be able to give estimates of when you will be ready for egg collection and therefore your embryo transfer. Is this your first ever IVF cycle?
