Had my scan this morning to check my uterine lining - Serum only require me to do one scan a couple of days before I fly out, but because my lining is always so troublesome, I get an earlier one just to give me peace of mind. And today was the day, usually I'm SO stressed out beforehand, but this time I wasn't, I was hoping all would be ok, but not sick to the stomach like I usually am. Must have been a sign, because my lining was a nice plump 11 mm. THe best its ever been and I won't even have my FET for another 2 weeks. For the first time, I won't have to increase my meds in a panicked attempted to thicken the lining - which is great because this time the oestrogen is making me queasy!

My FS here is convinced I'm going to come back pregnant - I hope she's right!

I don't know if I feel more excited or more nervous at the moment! Taking the very last pill (hopefully for ever) was quite overwhelming this morning - LOL! Silly I know but it felt quite monumentus or something . . . .

I have all our passports, picked up the tickets and travel insurance from the agent yesterday, spoke to my sons teacher (he'll be taking 2 weeks off school) and organising work etc. Its all so very real now.

I've sent Dr K an email a couple of days ago but if he's away I'll probably hear from him next week - I'm dying to know about my donor!!!!

Quick Q for all the ladies that have been - did you get a lining scan here before you left? I'll be on Day 10 when we fly out and day 13 when I see Dr K (Monday) then presumably if everything goes fine transfer will be Friday?
Should I get a scan before I go? Will it make a difference?

Yes @justcantstop I've been on the pill for the last 5 months to try and get a regular cycle (I've been menopausal for 4 years - zero period!) Back to normal by the second cycle.
Hiya, I didn't find out anything about my donor until I got there, Dr K said he had 2 potential donors for me and when we arrived, I found out her age, height, weight, eye and hair colour, how many children she has of her own and how many babies she has successfully been a donor for.

I didn't have any scans until I saw Dr K on the morning the eggs were collected from the donor. I asked if I needed one and he said no. I don't know how he was confident that all would be ok, but we still had 5 days til transfer so maybe he could have upped dosages enough to sort it out!

It all seemed very easy and stress free!

Good luck. I'm so excited for you!
    xx

@IrisJ - my first donor cycle (at the awful clinic not the magical Serum!) I was there in November and the weather was lovely. Light jumper at night but otherwise very comfortable and warm. If you wanted to lounge on the beach it might be less than ideal (I wouldn't want to myself, just because I'd get jumpy about wanting to swim and knowing it's probably better not to) but for wandering around doing touristy stuff around Athens, it's actually perfect.

Oh Frances congratulations on your wee girl
Vixjc thanks for the roll call
great reading. How everyone is moving along
i sent an email off to embryoland and serum enquiring about getting a lining scan while in athens on holiday before my fet and as yet have not had a reply from either clinic, it's still a fair way away but I'd be more settled if I heard from either one just saying it was possible or not
