All the best kimmymichelle!!
All the best kimmymichelle!!
Good luck and bon voyage and all that jazz, oh I really want you and everyone going to Greece to be pregnant and have a baby !
I work as a relief teacher and yesterday and today 2 different students go " are you pregnant Miss ? " I was so proud to say "YES"..oh it feels nice to just say the 'p' word, and in the staff room there was a woman who was 27 weeks and oh how we all chatted about babies and birthing and bla bla. I just can't wait to 'pop' I told them all, since I look halfway between a bogan that drinks a lot of beer and a bloated mess..I just really want to look preggy. But obviously I do to some kids..hahah...I wish the same for you all and I hope I make it to the end. I'm still a touch pessimistic, but I think thats just from trying so many times and failing. I pray to all the gods and goddesses for good fortune. I hope you all have it to.
Love and luck to you all.
Irisj, I will write a response for you tomorrow evening about my experiences with the clinics so far.. Sorry I've not had a chance to get on here in the last couple of days. ☺
Thanks Laiylabelle. Feel free to pm me if you like.
hi ladies, well I'm sitting in the waiting room in the day surgery... awaiting my laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy and lipoidal flush!!! just want to get everything checked out before heading to Greece later this year. wish me luck...
Spoke to Ruth couple of days ago, and the donor will be sorted by end of July if I intend to do a September transfer. It's all happening...
Kimmymichell - Oh boy - its here! Stay positive and have a wonderful trip! We're cheering for you so keep us posted!
Laiylabelle I do hope you post your thoughts on your contact with the clinics.
CherryCP: Don't worry, everything will come out fine and soon you'll be on your way too.
Yasna: Don't know you but I can picture you in the teachers' lounge gushing on about being pregnant! Happy that you sound so blissfully happy and that all is going well. You'll look officially pregnant soon enough so don't fret!!
All the best to everyone at whatever stage in this journey you are!!
Cherry all the best with everything. I hope it all goes well.
Yasna everythink will be ok. The worst seems to be over for you. I know its hard not to get analytical and think about all the negative stuff. Believe me I know. I'm the most sceptical person I know!
You are on your way. One happy and healthy baby on its way!! xx
Irisj, so i'l give you a little update as to where i am at the mo!
I contacted Dr Kanakas (really down to all the great things i had heard about him on here) a couple of weeks ago. I sent a short email, just asking about the clinic, success rates and what happens etc. He replied within the day and said that we should set up a Skype consultation to discuss further. I hadn't gotten around to replying to him and he literally rang me that night! I was pretty surprised. Anyway, we had a brief chat about my IVF history and he said to send all my information/history over to his personal email address. He then text me straight away after the call with his details and we set up a date to Skype for the following week.
The skype session was good - he comes across as a very caring man and seems genuinely sympathetic, though I have been to see so many specialists etc so i am always a little skeptical. Just my nature! He said that at this stage i would just need to keep him up to date with my cycle for the next few months (when day1 of my cycle is) and to send over pics of myself and my DH so he can look at potential donors. He emailed me a script for some Progynova (which i would take prior to the embryo transfer to thicken my lining.)
I haven't confirmed at this point that i am going with Embryoland though will be deciding very soon.
Last week I contacted Serum and had a phone call with Penny. She had all my notes as i had emailed them through to her before our call.
She said i am very young to be looking at using donor eggs (i'm 33) and that she wants to investigate if there is something else at play (like an infection) that is causing my infertility. So i have today sent off a sample of my menstrual blood to Athens so she can run some tests on it. Myself and DH think it's worth crossing the t's and dotting the i's before definitely moving onto donor eggs. (Have had 3 failed IVF ICSI cycles and we get very low fertilisation rates, though we have each had a zillion tests so thought we had ruled everything else out). So i will await my blood test results and see what Penny says. She said hidden infections (that don't always show up with a vaginal swab) can effect the uterine environment and egg quality but are reversible with drugs.
I was so set on using Embryoland because of all the great things i head heard about Dr Kanakas and had kind of made my mind up before, though i really like that Penny is recognising that there may be other things at play and wants to investigate further as i am so 'young'. My heart says Dr Kanakas, though my head says Serum and Penny. Just that gut feeling everyone talks about i guess...we will see.
But as i said before, i believe both are great clinics from reading other women's stories.
My FS tried to refer me to Genesis, though i have decided against that clinic purely down to other people's experiences.
I hope one day to be able to complete my story with a happy ending and will be happy to share it with other girls in the situation i now find mysef in! Good luck deciding and keep us posted!

Laiylabelle wow 33. Penny is right you are very young. It is good that they are looking further into this. If you can have your own baby it would be fabulous!
Have you tried any naturopaths? My sister in her late thirties was trying for her second and they wouldn't conceive. As soon as she took the mess from a recommended naturopath
