LOL! I'm like you @justcantstop every time I read a post about Dr K and embryoland it makes it feel so real (I feel like packing now - LOL!) and that fingers crossed there is a really good chance that I will be able to give my son the biggest Christmas present ever and let him know that he's going to be a big brother - finally!

Huge welcome @piratehamster88 and thank you so much for posting your journey. I'm in a similar situation in that I've never actually had any ivf, I was told straight up by my FS at the time that it would be a complete waste because my eggs were non existent (I was 42 and had a 2 year old!). So I'm quite nervous about the whole thing but funnily enough Dr K seems to have a way to make me feel so relaxed about it.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, @brimrush and @positano - really hoping to hear good news from all of you very soon!

    Thanks everyone for the support.
I love how excited everyone is about their upcoming trips and that makes me excited too. I still can't allow myself to believe that this may work but all your positivity makes me feel awesome!
@kymmymichell I've just had a chance to see your photos (they don't load up on my phone, only the laptop) and I love the one of you and Dr K! Wish I'd thought of that but I was so overwhelmed with the whole process, I didn't think of it. Totally love it.
@Jamellabeth I with my FS had told me not to bother with my own eggs. When Dr K saw my blood results, he was surprised I'd ever been advised to try IVF with my own, that using a donor would be the only way. Would have saved a lot of time and heartache.
Dr K does make it all seem very easy and it really was. I just turned up, having paid no money at all, and everything was already organised and in place. He's such a sweetheart and the embryologist was just lovely. Such a great experience all round.

In Athens, we found a place through Tripadvisor rentals (like a rubbish version of Airbnb) and rented an apartment very near Kerameikos metro station. It is on the same metro line as Ambelokipi which was an easy 10 minute walk to Embryoland. (We got a cab back after the transfer) but it was easy to get around everywhere. Our apartment didn't have aircon though so it was boiling! I definitely recommend air con for your day or so or relaxing after your transfer. We found Athens really scorching and only ventured out to see the sights late on in the day. It was a pretty easy train and tram ride to the beach too.

    Love to everyone.

Hey Piratehamster, welcome to the Greek journey!! It was nice to read your story, I think we all come from a similar situation. I wish I did donor eggs years ago when my FS said my eggs were too old then. Alas my ego wouldnt let me and finally I gave in..I'm glad I did, I cant wait to meet my little munchkin.

I too also got a photo with Dr Kanakas and myself, he suggested we stand in front of the babies picture wall, with all these people in his clinic looking at me strangely while I'm taking a selfie with him, I have no shame !!!

I'm glad you're stocking up on Greek pessaries, I swear they are much better than the leaky Aussie ones and easier to insert. I can't tell you how many times I thought I was having a bleed with those stupid Aussie pessaries!!

I'm counting the days until my 20w scan ( 9 days) and really am excited about finding out the sex of my baby. From what I hear though, many people cant see due to the baby moving so much...I hope mine chills out for a minute so I can find out !!

I havent got much to say except good luck to everyone in Greece, going to Greece and the rest of you that are currently pregnant, I wish you all very much love and luck. Its difficult getting through the first 12 weeks and personally I wont be relaxed until after I've given birth. I must say now that im 19 weeks on Monday it seems more real, my tummy is starting to look less like I drink loads of beer and eat pizza by the box, but more like a mummy tummy. I'm apparently glowing and mum says i'm having a boy since I'm apparently pretty ( i wasnt before it seems) haha... ok. im off i just had to put a few lines in to say hi to the newbies on the block...

Good luck and god bless you all

Ok Hope we dont run out of all these wonderful baby dust stories. Im now on tablets and booked my ticket to arrive 20/9 am can be changed if needed. I think Dr K at the mo must have the fertility Godess on his side.
Congrats all you mums to be Im so excited for you.
Welcome to the new ladies. As you can see there has been limited failures in the proceedures from there. But ladies are still getting some to freeze. In my 5 x ivf i had 2x5day transfers but none frozen. I also only found out of Dr K that blocked tubes can deplete that futher so just had them removed. So hoping there is no problems now I would love my new husband to have a child.
I am too dissapointed that I waisted so much money on Ivf here that didnt give a dam as long as I was paying. Probably in that time lost the best of my eggs through their incompetence.
So excited to explore and embrace Greece for this opportunity. Hopefully some of us will meet up or cross paths September.

[QUOTE=IrisJ;8241998]Hi Kcraig how did they found out your tubes were blocked?
Had a laprascopy which dr told me was a good reason to be doing IVF. This was only after 4 Ivf rounds. Ivf Australia never did any investigations this was all because Id asked the questions. I then decided to try ED Dr K could not understand why they hadnt been removed. I had them removed last month with his advice. So praying now that was only prob.

Hi Ladies, I saw my FS today to bring her up to date etc and she told me that she has seen a lot of success over the last few months with ladies going to Greece!!
We had a really long chat about it and she said that she is definitely seeing more and more ladies heading overseas rather than waiting for a local donor. And she even wanted to know the name of the clinic and details etc.

LOL! how's this for feeling positive - there is a very good chance that she will be away the week I return from Greece so she has given me the pathology request for the pregnancy test !!!!! It feels very weird actually having the test request in my hands right now (kinda exciting!). All I have to do is email her once I've had the transfer and she will let me know the date for the test and book me in for a scan!

Starting to feel very very real!

Hello everyone, hope you are all well.

I'm nearly though my two week wait!! I've kept myself busy but not overdone things. I'm currently in the UK staying at my Mums so I'm being really spoilt! I had my blood test today, cost me £85, couldn't get it done at my mums local doctors so ended up at an IVF clinic in Tunbridge a Wells who have been great. I won't get my results until tomorrow though....

I'm feeling really normal, had a bit of brown spotting a few days ago but that's about all.

    Hugs to you all. Xxxxxx
