I also had an intralipid infusion prior to embryo transfer at Monash with Nick L. Unfortunately our only embryo arrested the day of transfer...

    Hi Everyone

Its been super busy and I just had a minute to catch up what's happening and wanted to check in!

I've never had intralipid infusions. That was not even offered when I did my IVF. The last few years its something that the clinics are offering for extra cost. I read some articles about it and it seems there is no definitive answer as whether it helps or not, but it does not seem to hurt. There seems to be controversy over the whole killer cells theory in general that the intralipids are supposed to work on.

I wonder how Kimmy and Brim are making out with their transfers in Greece?? I know we're all hoping for the best for both of them. I guess we'll find out soon enough!

I sent Dr. K a couple of emails with a few questions and I have not heard back. I can only assume he's busy. I'm hopeful he will get back to me this weekend.

Wishing you all the very best and hoping everyone is doing well!

    Hi guys.
Well now I am 2 days post transfer and it went really well. I havent got to that stage yet so it was our first transfer and I felt comfortable and really relaxed. We stayed and chatted to Dr Kanakas for ages afterwards. And we just like him so much. We have been doing some walking around and just taking it really easy and I feel really good. I was worried about weeing them out after the transfer, I was busting for the bathroom so much. I laid on my back for as long as I could (maybe 30-40 mins) then I was allowed to get up and go to the toilet. Then I laid back down and chatted to Cal and Dr kanakas for a bit and then I had a snooze. It was a good experience.
Now I keep imagining them getting nice and securely tucked in for the long ride to babyhood. Fingers crossed anyway. 😊
Hope that you're all well and happy. We definitely are. Xxx

    Hi everyone 😀
So I sent my queries re the donor programs and the answers:

    Serum
We don't do every possible genetic test but we check karyotype and common genetic conditions like cystic fibrosis (most variants) and sickle cell. We don't accept donors with a close personal or family medical history of mental illness, autism etc. We mainly use your photos and physical description to match you to a donor.

    New life
Greek law states that egg donors are thoroughly screened for infectious diseases and are only allowed to donate once certain blood tests have been completed. These include HIV, syphilis, Hepatitis B and C. At Newlife we undertake additional investigations. We investigate:
    Family, sexual and psychiatric history
    Substance and drug abuse history
Blood group, Rhesus status and b-Thalassaemia and sickle cell disease trait.
Karyotypic abnormalities (genetic abnormalities) and Cystic Fibrosis.

    Embryoland
No response yet. Talking to Dr K on Sunday on Skype. Missed his call a couple of times.

So far it seems like New Life has the best program but there aren't a lot of reviews on them as they are fairly new? Has anyone been to New Life?

Good luck girls in Greece right now !! sticky vibes !!! I'm sure you will be lucky !! May the gods and goddesses be on your side. I know what you mean about getting up to pee Kymmy, I lasted 15 minutes, and I rushed to the toilet, mum says thats when I lost embro #2. Yeah right mum, but seriously dont drink too much water prior like I did, I have a tiny bladder and drank almost 1 litre, too much. I was lying on my stomach and the pressure on my bladder was insane !! Next time, I drink less!!

I have my 20 week scan booked for the 27th of July, IM SO EXCITED, hoping to see my little munchkin and find out if its a boy or girl??????? I will keep you posted! !!!! !!

Few of you are talking about scans n stuff, I had a saline hydrosonogram because the clinic I was going to in the U.S made me get one. It was soooo painful, they blow up your uterus with a balloon then fill it with saline fluid, very owchy.. but it showed that my uterus had no adhesions, scars etc. So it was a bonus for my transfer in Greece, not that Dr Kanakas required it, but I felt better knowing my oven was good for the baking !!

As far as that Ruth lady someone mentioned for the other clinic, I personally preferred discussing my transfer with my doctor, even with my past 9 o.e ivf transfers, I felt more comfort talking with my doctor than his nurse, even though she was helpful, I felt my Doctor had more experience in the field so to speak. When I first spoke to Dr Kanakas on the phone, then skype, then whenever I needed to, it was so reassuring and the best experience I've had in all my IVF experience. I would never want to discuss such an important thing with someone other than my doctor. It was almost a luxury to have Dr Kankas on speed dial, even my O.B here hasnt given me his mobile number. I will ask for it later on, I wonder if he will give it to me. Whereas Dr Kanakas makes you feel comfortable to call him anytime. Hes usually doing transfers around midday, one time I called him and he just delivered a baby. I wish he would deliver mine, that would be awesome! !!

I hope you girls all get pregnant like me and dance around with joy when you see your I did one every day after I returned from Greece, watching the line get darker and darker filled me with joy, I wish the same for all of you undergoing IVF overseas, no matter where you are ! Or who you choose. But I personally am a big fan of Embryoland. I will scream it from the forum rooftops and will always support anyone going there since I feel its a more personal experience since you deal directly with your doctor, a luxury and a blessing for me.

I'm starting to sound like a commercial "Embryoland, the place where your embryo will land" hahah ok im being silly....i think I've been feeling baby moving, its like a bubbling feeling, kinda weird and nice at the same time..

OMG my dishwasher is so quiet !!! It was installed today !!! i cant wait to see if the one week old mousaaka plates are clean !! The kitchen is spotless and I'm relaxing on the couch wrapped in my feather doona along with my extremely warm mink flanellette sheets..its so cold in Brisbane, apparently an arctic front is moving up and freezing our nipples off. Speaking of nipples, OMG mine are so sensitive !! sore and tender, my friend suggested I use a looofa to ruff them up, im so scared they will hurt when I feed baby..i have really sensitive nipples, they are browner now and the nipple has grown, finally, since I felt like I had man nipples..hahahah

Love and kisses from the sensitive nipple lady !!!
