One a note about looking good for a specialist I have a funny story. I have my daughter's ent today. On the weekend I got my hair cut but there was a miscommunication. I showed the chap the first picture, but I left with the second! Hoping it looks a little more respectable come my FS in 41 days!

Hope all goes well caketin and you don't have to cancel the party. IVF can be so disruptive to your normal life. I remember one time when I had a work conference and my husband had to drive 2 hours just to give me an injection in the car park (I'm too scared to give them to myself). Then he drove home again and I went back to the conference and pretended like nothing happened.

There's no way I'd get my DH to give me my needles. He almost passed out when I showed him the orgalutran one last night! Although that one, I must admit, is quite scary looking.

Argh! I'm so frustrated right now. We have had to jump through so many hoops to get started with IVF again. Get all of our testing redone and do refresher IVF Counselling. We thought we were finally ready to start a cycle and now our clinic has decided we need to do refresher genetics counselling as well because we use PGD. Their next appointment is not for 4 weeks! Then I will have to wait for AF to arrive again (which can be up to 6 weeks). Sorry to vent, I'm just really annoyed given we have done all of this before and the counselling sessions are just a tick the box exercise anyway.

Oh so frustrated for you @Mummalovexx! It's such a daunting thing so when you prepare yourself you're ready to go. Unfortunately the clinics sometimes have other ideas 😔 we waited 3 months to start this cycle and in the meantime my FS announced she was leaving. I rang our patient liaison and we discussed continuing this cycle and after this one we'll meet with a new FS if it's unsuccessful. Could you try calling your patient liaison and talking to them? Or nurse coordinator?

Thank you caketin, maybe I was just unrealistic with my timeframes to get started. Such bad timing for you to have your FS leave during a cycle. Hopefully all will go well for you and you won't need to worry about finding a new FS : ) I ended up calling the clinic again and they have found a cancelation appointment for us next week which is great. Hopefully get started soon.

@Mummalovexx wow your clinic sounds so thorough. Which clinic do you go through? Gosh we just got some pre-screens and that was it , I could start as soon as AF came.

I'm glad you got a cancelled appt as more waiting would drive you batty.

Had my Skype with FS this morning! It was all very casual and straightforward. He said that I can just pick a transfer date and we can work the meds around it, which means I won't have to book my flights Perth-Brisbane last minute, whew. Gosh it was so good to see him again. He's so positive too, we were talking about the screening bloods, and he said, "you're about to get pregnant again, we just need to make sure everything's okay", and when I said I wanted a DET again, he was all, "gees are you sure, how many more kids do you want?" Hehe. He makes it all seem like it's GOING to happen, which is really nice even though I know it's probably not. :P He also said he reckons motherhood has changed me, made me more confident in myself, which was lovely to hear. And he said I looked great too, and that I must be well and truly back down to pre-baby-weight (which I have been for a year, lol). Anyway he's my favouritest person ever today.

So pleased that bit's over. Now I can just email with the nurse again to work out the rest.

    Hi Ladies!
Hope I am ok to join in...

I am awaiting my egg collection tomorrow, first cycle back after our soon to be 4 year old was born. DS is the result of my first fresh transfer from cycle one, used my one and only frosty a year later, BFN and then chose to enjoy parenthood for a few years so now we are back and hopefully get our number 2!

At the age of 26, I found out both of my tubes were severely blocked (bilateral hydrasalphlinx, unsure the cause possibly from having my appendix out the surgeon damaged the tubes on the way out) anyways, tubes were removed, started I've the following month and was pregnant the month after. Hubby has no issues, just me!

Cycling with a 3.5 year old in tow has been a lot easier than I expected actually, he comes with me for bloods and scans and seems to have the nurses wrapped around their little finger haha he's pretty well behaved at our appts so that's been lucky.

I do my injections while he's sleeping and the nurses do my bloods on the stealth so he hasn't actually seen anything yet! Haha scans he sits on the chair by my head and watches the TV.

Hope everyone in here is traveling along well
