It's fine Tuna is very good for you but try to limit it to 2 serves per week at the most (this goes for all oily fish but you can safely have more of other fish).

how does taking a fish oil supplement tie in with those guidelines? like do you still take a fish oil supplement when pregnant? can you still have tuna 2-3 times per week (canned) plus the daily fish oil supplement?

It depends on the type of fish oil as to whether it's safe in pregnancy (because some have high levels of vitamin a) but many of them are fine. Check with your dr or pharmacist.

You can still have your tuna too. It's the mercury you're trying to avoid with fish and that shouldn't be in the tablets.

All Australian fish oils have to comply with regulations which state they must have a negligible amount of mercury so they are all purified and are very safe - just make sure your naturopath or DR has you on the recommended pregnancy dosages so it is in conjunction with your multivitamin (some fish oils have vitamin A which is not recommended for pregnant women so double check your labels)

I'm pretty sure that one isn't derived from fish liver so it's ok. Definitely double check though. Best to be safe.
