Which board games do 6 years olds and older enjoy from your experience please . I know children play alot with ipads but i still like the idea of good old fashioned but modern games that i could buy that children will play and enjoy.
    any suggestions please.

I'd love to know also about some perhaps newer more unknown recent games

I don't have kids that age but when I was about that age I loved Guess Who. And not board games but card games like snap and find the matching pairs.

I bought DS a few games a xmas which he loves playing ( he's 4-1/2) Guess Who is his favourite- I found a marvel superheroes one from the USA and the kids hedbanz one is great as it has picture cards which is easier obviously for kids who don't read yet and boom boom balloon is silly but they love it as you pop balloons!

    Ds1 and I play kerplunk.
He loves making the marbles fall but it's fun anyway.

At six, they enjoyed Snakes and Ladders, Trouble, Connect Four, Uno, Go Fish, Memory.
Now that they're a bit older Monopoly and Pictionary Jnr are very popular.

My cousin loves board games. His favourite are Monopoly and Scrabble. He's almost 13 now but has loved these games for years. He hated (and still does hate) junior monopoly because it's boring (I have to agree with him there). I bought him the Trivial Pursuit Family Edition for Christmas and the kids questions are so easy. We played with all of the kids (12, 10, 7, 2) and they had a ball. It didn't last too long but all of the kids were able to answer the questions (except the 2yo, she just liked playing with the pieces of pie).
