Thanks Missybear and Blondeinbrisvegas for replying

BIB thanks for your never ending support. Yes that timely my brain surgery was really scary. I thought I was going to die. But thankfully it was just a benign growth , but the surgery was a major one. And i had to go to rehab twice a week for almost 1 year and DH has been really supportive through all this and the IVF train after that. It sad that we put so much trust in FS , that we forget to research on our own.

Thanks for thinking abt offering me help. We have been thinking about surrogacy. I have a sis who has recently had a baby. She can do it for sure. But her pregnancy and birth was so complicated , I don't want to ask her plus I just found out that Medicare doesn't refund anything for surrogates and we are about 18000 dollars out of pocket if we do surrogacy in Aus and al of that needs to be paid before the embryo transfer like in all IVF cases. Where as I found out that in India, where commercial surrogacy is allowed, it's abt 30000 all up. But you don't pay everything in the beginning . You have to pay abt 6000 initially and then if there is a bfp, it's all instalments over 9 months.

I am still confused and weighing options between surrogacy and the aggressive immune protocol... .. After my brain surgery 5 years ago, I have slight weakness in my right limbs, my neurologist is fine with me going through IVF etc.. It's just that I have gone through so much IVF treatment after that major surgery, that I feel exhausted. We are going to meet Wazza. let's see what he says . NL advised me towards surrogacy if that's possible as it had the higher success rate...he even said he would try to use the growth hormones in my next cycle for embryo quality. As I produce lots of eggs but abt 2 blasts per cycle. Has anyone had an experience with growth hormones?

And I believe ivig is quite expensive too. How many times to you need to take it ?
Taking this decision is a bit overwhelming at this stage. We will be starting a fresh stimulated cycle with pgd with NL end of this month. And we are going to see Wazza in the 3rd. We are staying in Brissy for 3 days. I was wondering if any bloods or scans need to be done, can they be done in Brisbane while you are cycling in Melbourne. Any ladies having any experience in this?

Hi @BlondeinBrisvegas, all going well here thanks. Bubba is 3 and a half months now. Time is literally flying by! Starting to get more sleep but know the 4 month sleep regression isn't far off so not getting too excited haha.

I am an avid reader of the over 40's preg/parenting thread, sooo much great advice!! Just read about your LO's appt with the physio. Glad you have a diagnosis and now have a plan. You're such a wonderful mum so I've no doubt she will come along fabulously before too long. Sounds like you've already made great progress 😊
@Sue77 gosh what a nightmare run you have had. I can totally understand why you're angry. I really hope that now you know what the issues are you can move forward, either with surragcy or an aggressive immune protocol, and get your take home bubba. After all you've been through you totally deserve it.
@missybear sending lots of baby dust your way - enjoy all that practice!! 😀☺️😉

@missybear Good to hear Luv!! Yippee!! for the +ve OPK!! You never know your luck Luv!!! that you did!!!

@Kellyk77 OMG!! 3.5 months already??? Getting more sleep even if it's just an extra couple of hours really makes a difference You never know r.e sleep regression. It might not be that bad Luv. L's weren't always extreme so you'll get through yours with minimal drama!!

Thank-you for the compliment and I hope you know you are more than welcome to join us on the thread at any time you want/need to ok??

@Sue77 It makes sense financially to go overseas to do it doesn't it?? So expensive here the way they've structured it!!! At least o/seas you only pay a bit of a deposit even though it's still a lot of $ but better than 18k all in one go with no BFP guarantee!!!

I completely understand why you don't want to do the aggressive immune protocol yourself Luv and it might be better to use a Surrogate if you're able?? I used growth hormone...Saizen in Cycle 4. Wazza adds it to his protocols. That's expensive too but I believe some PHI will cover some of the costs but you'd have to check.

I don't feel it made too much of a difference in my egg/embryo quality, but I've read of many women who say that it has. It's one of those things you have to try to know if it will help. I'm glad I tried it as I wasn't left wondering. The IVIG is expensive Luv. I think Dr L is a bit cheaper to get it done through than Dr M. I think with Dr L the infusions cost around $1500 mark and with Dr M it's somewhere around the $2000-2200 mark??

Perhaps @Chiefsgirl or one of the other Immune Girls who might be stalking from the sidelines will know??? (Please chime in if anyone does know!!!) I think you have about 3 treatments at the minimum in the first 12 wks or so. Could be a few more depending on your immune issues but you'd have to check with Dr M/Dr L. Wazza only does intrallipids. You'll also be able to get BT's/scans done when you're in Brisbane through him if you need to He's got an ultrasound machine in his office and the phlebotomists are next door to his rooms to go and get your bloods done, so there won't be any problem. He can get the results faxed back down to Melbourne for you

Good luck with this upcoming Cycle Luv!! and prayers being sent you get as many PGD normal embryo's as possible!!!

@BlondeinBrisvegas. AF arrived this afternoon, not overly disappointed because it means my hormones look like they are stabilising after that stupidly long cycle following the MC. This AF is a few days early but I ovulated early so understandable. Going to watch this cycle like a hawk Basal Temps and all that jazz👍😊

Sorry ladies I haven't popped into this thread for a while! Thanks BiB for tagging me.

Dr m usually suggests ivig 7-10 days before transfer, in bfp and every 4 weeks from there till around the 12-14 week mark. Some ladies have had further, but it all depends on what your immune issues are.

Ie, I'm doing intralipids rather than ivig but had a bt this week (I'm currently 14weeks) to test my surface markers and see if I need anymore. I have also been on 3 weekly infusions, but they are cheaper than ivig.

Ivig with dr m is around 2000-2200 depending on how much you need.
