    Default Family Traditions

    Hi all!
Thought this might be an interesting thread. Growing up, my family never really had many "traditions" whether this be holiday season or in general and I've always thought when I have my own family one day I hope to make plenty!

So, what are some traditions you had growing up or your family has?
    Would love to hear them!

    Some examples:
Christmas tree goes up on dec 1st - whole family helps
1 Sunday a month is 'Waffle Sunday!'
Daughters getting perfume from dad at Easter in lieu of 100 choccies

We had "special days" with dad once a semester when we were growing up. Just dad & I (and he did it with my brother too). My parents were seperated and dad had a new partner so we really looked forward to our day just with dad. We got to take the day off school and do anything we wanted pretty much. Some things we did were visit a chocolate factory, see a movie, go to the adventure playground. Once we hit high school our special days were done on pupil free days or weekends.

We didn't have traditions really. We participated in the usual stuff like Xmas, Easter etc but never really added our own spin. But what we did do seemed to relate to food!

Xmas morning is ALWAYS hot brekkie with mimosas and no presents until after brekkie

When mum was away working and dad was in charge of dinner, we'd always have a "Dad" dinner - eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans.
