Default hungry baby sucking on friends cheek ****warning - a bit sad :(

    http://stylishlisa.com/reasonsmotiva...rn-suck-cheek/

I saw this video on my friends facebook, they were saying things like 'oh how cute,so funny' etc. For non clickers, it is an obviously very hungry newborn baby desperately rooting and searching for a breast, and sucking on the cheek of a baby next to him. I found it really sad to watch I really hate to see a hungry baby being left to cry, & just watchimg the desperation in the poor bubba was so sad. I know the mum might have been on her way, or a bottle was being warmed, but surely the bubba could have had a cuddle or dummy or something, not be left to think it was trying to get milk. Im so glad for rooming in!

No real point to this, just that I felt a bit sad &keep thinking about it.

I know the video you're talking about. I do think it's kinda cute, but also a bit sad that instead of picking him up to cuddle/feed him they just keep filming for 2-3 mins. The other issue I have is that there's like 20 babies just lined up next to each other. What if the get switched around?! How do they know which baby is which without unwrapping them to check tags etc?

    Ouch!
Whenever my babies missed the nipple and sucked flesh instead, it hurt like hell.
That poor little baby getting his face sucked off. I doubt he was allowing it to happen, what choice had he got.
I hope they weren't left there too long.

if that baby was allowed to continue sucking the cheek of the other baby, I bet there would have been a 'hicky' love bite sort of bruising. babies can suck so hard that leaving a bruise is quite possible. I haven't seen the video in question. marie.

I hate how the write up days the neighbouring baby was generous or something, like e was voluntarily moving his cheek back for the hungry baby to suck on.

No, the neighbouring baby is asleep, and is annoyed by having his cheek sucked so moves it away but being so tightly wrapped and wedged between other babes has no choice but to move his face back again.

I don't like this video much either

If I had watched this when DD was newborn I would have cried & leaked milk everywhere at the thought of that hungry little baby. I don't find it cute at all! I just want to pick that baby up & give it a big old cuddle & a feed.

I know the video and it made me cry as I saw it when ds was only a few weeks old. I just wanted to hold them and feed them. I felt like screaming at whoever it was filming

Im glad Im not the only one, I was thinking I must be a bit hormonal or clucky atm to feel so sad about it. I just dont get how a hungry, crying baby can be funny or cute.
