oh and another few I really hate.

When you are loading your bags back into your trolley after being scanned then turn to pay using the eft pos and the next person in line is standing right in front of the eft pos on top of you and you have to ask them to move back. I can't count the amount of times it has happened.

When the staff load up bags to the point of splitting. I got a girl every week for literally 4 years who did this and every.single.week I would ask she not do that as the bags would split and I would have my food on the ground of the car park. She would stare blankly at me, take one item out of that bag..... and proceed to keep stuffing the proceeding bags until they would split.

When people do their massive trolley load in the self serve Check out because they don't want to wait 5 minutes behind someone else at the proper checkouts. It's so frustrating when there's only 3 self serve check outs at our local Safeway, 1 is broken or is cash only, the other is taken up by said selfish impatient person, and the only available one has 20 people waiting to use it. Which we all get through before said trolly person is finished.

I do this. I get through faster than the checkout people.

And you keep everyone else up with their tiny basket just wanting to get in & out in 5 mins, but now they're waiting 10-20 mins longer because your hogging one of the self serve check outs

There are 15 self-serve checkouts at my local Coles. There has never been anyone waiting more than 2 minutes to use one.

Besides, there was a guy before me a few days ago who had 4 items, he took 27 minutes to go through.

The other option is me waiting 40-60 minutes for the cashier to put through 2 sales, before getting to me... I'm holding a heck of a lot more up there.

Wow 15! That's crazy! We have about 8 check outs & 3 self serves. 90% of people use the self serve because only 2 of the check outs are ever open. The full time ladies are quite quick. There's always a huge line of 10-20 people waiting at the self serve because of the poor customer service & lack of open registers during peak hours.

Yeah customer service has disappeared in the last few years. Another reason I prefer self-serve.
Although now they are calling them "Assisted Checkouts"

Yeah I've found Coles has heaps of self serves but would have none. Where I live is like 5 woolies to one Coles. It sucks!

When people touch your items on the conveyor belt!
Yesterday at the shop, I had just starting loading my items on when I picked up the bread. I placed the bread on the silver ledge at the end of the conveyor belt so I could move it up once everything else was on. I don't like my bread getting squished so I always leave it till last, then put the plastic divider on for the person behind me. Anyway, as mentioned, I had literally just started loading my items on and had a full trolley yet to go, when this lady comes up behind me (next to me really, not behind me), moves my bread up and says "Is this yours too?" and starts loading her items. I had a whole trolley load to put on yet! I felt really hurried and quite bullied. I just said thanks and reminded her I had quite a few things left to go. She got the hint and took her items off but she had to push me further down the lane to get them because the conveyor belt was moving of course. It was quite an awkward scene actually because I'm pregnant and had Ds sitting in the trolley so we are slow moving and she had to scramble for her things. It was kind of like when someone stuffs up on the escalator and everyone gets backed up because it just keeps on moving haha. Anyway, moral of the story, wait your turn and don't touch other people's food items on the belt please!
