Mine was diagnosed after I had a stool sample, blood tests, endoscopy and colonoscopy to rule out anything more serious like Crohn's disease or coeliac. It was basically a process of elimination that led to the diagnosis.

This exactly. If it's nothing else, they call it IBS. Except I was fobbed off for 13 years being told this, then was finally diagnosed with gastroparesis.

Yep. The trouble with gastro symptoms is they're so non specific and can be anything from IBS to Ovarian cancer. Any concerns see your doctor. As it is I'm having a lap next week to check for endometriosis as the symptoms for that can include gut issues too.

I believe it is basically a process of elimination, they have to make sure it isn't anything else first.
