Default Low progesterone and low rise HCG

I'm looking for some advice. This is IVf #10 for us, and I have become immune to the pain of it all, and am just in auto pilot mode.

We have had BFP this cycle, but the blood results are terrible.

    Blood test after 2ww - HCG 25 (very low) P4 - 3
    Blood test48 hrs later - HCG 48 (still low) P4 - 2.6

The doctor refuses to allow me to take P4 supports, as he says that it's pretty much dooms day and highly likely ectopic, and therefor should let it ride itself out. As he fears adding P4 will only prolong the inevitable.

I can handle this, but part of my is deeply concerned that a boost in P4 could help it turn around. The HCG has almost doubled.o if it is not ectopic then the P4could be the missing ingredient to save the day.

I am confused. Any light shed here would help.

Meanwhile I have a packet of P4 left over from a previous cycle in my draw.

    Thanks

Hi there, I wish I had some comfort to add but my understanding from my FS is that HCG triggers a rise in P4 not the other way around. IVF clinics use P4 to avoid the remote possibility of an actual p4 deficiency but I think this is actually quite a rare condition.

I'm sorry you're going through this. If it makes you feel better though - by all means use the leftover p4 you've got you never know.
