As for today I've taken the kids out since early to this big park with several playgrounds, cows along the back fence, ducks, galahs and a lake- we've been walking around the lake with our dog looking at and talkig to the cows- checking out the ducks and swans and watching them play on the playground- I'm already hungry! I had cornflakes with milk for breakfast and some grapes plus a coffee and am looking forward to buying a roast chook from woolies later and doing up a fresh salad to eat with the kids when we head back

Getting out helps! I really need to get them outside every weekend- my eldest wants to try this New Mexican restaurant tomorow so I need to also tell myself that's ok too- it's not all or nothing! Just balancing good choices with exercise and the yummy stuff- and cutting down the binging sessions..

I am a bit of a boredom, TV watching eater, so R&A I think I'm going to try your trick of not watching TV after dinner-as this seems to be the worst time for me.
A friend of mine joined a group called Overeaters Anonymous and she says she was most surprised that most people there weren't overweight, but described all the stuff you said in your OP. In the group the deal mostly with the psychological issues and provide support etc. might be worth a look?

I don't recognise any comfort/binge/stress eating with me, but most definitely I eat from boredom.
On a non-work day, I eat breakfast, drop the kids at school, get back home, and eat something else. Then again at about 11, lunch at 12, 2, then after school snack, dinner, dessert, then a before bed snack. It's terrible!!
When I am busy I don't eat much.

I have always been skinny, despite this eating.
But in the last year I have put on a stack of weight, the first ever in my life. So I have been trying to eat less, and also trying to eat smaller portion sizes (my portion sizes are huge). But I've put on another kilo in the past few weeks. *sigh*

So, no advice from me, but I do know how you feel!

    Default Comfort/stress/binge eating

    Corn flakes and milk
    Coffee
    Chicken breast avocado and salad
    Peanut butter sandwhich
    Coffee
Roast chicken with roast potato and veggies

I'm sure there'll be more- my portions were small and I've just eaten dinner and am "still hungry"

So I'll likely have at least one more thing if I can stay away from ending up having 10 more things before bed :P

And I might add I am quite stressed- the little two have been fighting, screaming, swamping me in the kitchen etc all evening and my eldest has had a few episodes of 8 going on 14 attitude today.

    Urgh. That sounds awful.

Right now I want to eat crap but instead I'm going to clean the toilets.

I'm trying to substitute a chore for my food cravings.... Lets see how that goes.
