Default Ikea kura bed / bunk bed

I know the recommendation for bunks is from 6 years old but we are really limited for space. Has anyone got the Ikea kura bed and using it as a loft?

I am wondering if it would be suitable for ds (4) and then we could put dd (2) on the floor underneath.

Ds is very cautious but does sometimes wake in the night (he has lots of dreams but sleep talks rather than sleep walks). Dd however is cheeky and mischevious (and lots of fun!)

So overall I am a bit hesitant and would love to hear if you have bunks of any sort.

We have one and have our just turned 6yo on top and 3yo on the bottom. We love it sooo much. Nice and low which I love.

Only thing I would be mindful of is if your 4yo could get down in the night if they need to. I wouldn't put my 3.5yo up there just yet as I don't think she would get out ok at night, she walks into our room in a daze most nights haha 😄

    I painted ours 😊ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1434079795.687934.jpg

We bought ours when our eldest was 4 and he was fine with it. Now he is 6 and we have put our youngest underneath. He went in there at 18 months and it has been great. No worries of him falling out of bed.
@mrswhitehouse I am in love with your paintjob. I want to do something similar but have yet to get around to it.

We got one :-) Loving it! Plan is to repaint and cover panels... at some point. But its so good, the kids actually have room to play on the floor now!
