I have a LG combined washer / dryer and do not recommend them. It washes clothes well but doesn't dry them well at all. For over $2,000 one would except something much better!

We got a Fisher & Paykel 7kg WashSmart (I think it's called) last year and I'm pretty sure they do an 8kg and 10kg version as well. It's been great, I really like it.

Is it called an agitator? The pole thingy in the middle that you put the fabric softener in? If that's what you mean, yes. I thought all top loaders had it.. But I don't know all that much about washing machines.
