Thanks @sunny79 for all of that info. I don't have CF at all either luckily. My partner is a carrier. We decided to get all the embryos PGD tested. I didn't realise that the standard PGD testing doesn't pick up embryos that are CF carriers (apparently if you are both carriers they can somehow do a test). We decided to go ahead anyway because as you said it can save a lot of heartache because it picks up embryos that were never going to make it. In NSW you don't need to have counselling first so we were able to just request it to be done. Sending my best wishes for you, hopefully this is the one that works for you! Xo

    Another bfn for me.
Been very tough. What to do now?!? One frosty left but don't want to transfer as probably just wasting my time.
Go back to stim? Pgd test everything. Transfer first? Quit now (very tempting). I have no idea what we are doing.

I'm so sorry Sunny, I really thought this would be the one.
Take some time before making your decision about what happens next. You need time to grieve what could have been this time around.
When you're ready, perhaps seek a second opinion. I'm not knocking your current doctor but sometimes a fresh set of eyes can do the trick.
    Thinking of you.

Oh darn Sunny. Let it be known to the universe, I'M NOT HAPPY ABOUT THAT!

Maybe it is time to give yourself a break? Although if I were in your shoes, I'd probably just get that last emby transferred and then take a break if it doesn't work out. Go back in spring. I'm certain spring is a great time to be getting pregnant!

    Hi everyone
My partner and I have been using the Geelong IVF with no luck.
We have had 2 collections and 4 transfers. Unfotunatley she has miscarried twice just recently at 10 weeks. This time she was taking blood thinning injections daily, asprin, cortisone, presseries 5 times a day and hsg injections every 3 days. I am just after any suggestions to what we can do or take so that it may work that we can discuss with the specialist.

    Hi Odd Socks,
So sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I hope you and your wife are ok.
We have also had 4 frozen transfers (from our 1st epu). One miscarriage and bfn from the other 3.
My biggest regret is not pgd/ genetic testing all our embryos. What is the point transferring abnormal embryos? The extra money for the testing is less than the cost of a transfer and much less heartbreaking.
We still have one embryo on ice but so heart broken right now we don't know what to do.
Can I ask what your fertility issues are?

So sorry to hear this Odd Socks. It must be heartbreaking.

We were lucky, and I honestly think that luck is all it comes down to sometimes.

We did quite a lot of alternative things to get my health on track and boost my husbands as well. We used acupuncture (Newtown Natural Fertility) and the Bump+ nutrition program (on MonashIVF website). We also took supplements recommended to us by a naturopath. If you see someone they can personalise it, but they did say CoQ10 and Zinc should be taken by everyone.

Who knows if it was those things that put the odds in our favour, but they are worth a shot.

It's easy to blame yourselves for what is happening, but remember it's not your fault. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks, and a chemical pregnancy not long after that. We then tried for another year with no luck and I blamed myself constantly. I thought my body was a dud and just couldn't bare children. But I'm typing this at 35 weeks pregnant via IVF and haven't had a single complication. Sometimes it comes down to luck, so don't give up hope.

    Wishing you all the best.

    Thanks for the replies.

We will be getting chromosomes testing next time hope that gives us some answers.
seeing we got as far as ten weeks we are willing at giving it another go,just hope all the testing come back fine.
The whole ivf is hard it's like you have no control don't know what to ask just hoping for the best each time.

    Default Geelong Monash IVF

    Hi Oddsocks,

Yes this journey is very hard. So much out of our control, so much hope and then so much disappointment.

Does your wife have a suspected immune issue? I assume she was on clexane injections? That with the cortisone... Maybe a consult with Dr Matthias in Sydney (via phone) is worth looking at? A lot of the older ladies on other threads swear by him to get them their take home babies.

    Do you have any children?

We are hoping for just one. Hubbie is a cystic fibrosis carrier and no sperm. Can only be retrieved via testicular biopsy, hence ivf with icsi is our only option.
