Twinkle twinkle before bed and naps.

Before bed we sign a ritual good night to all the family members of the house (inc. Cats) and sign bedtime, sweet dream and kisses for dad & mum.

In the morning I usually sign and say good morning sun when I open the curtains. Ds signed sun this morning and said "good morn". First time he has done that!!

We say our evening prayers and then I tuck them in and kiss them twice each. Then they kiss me on my eyes.

Dh and I never leave the house with a I love you and a kiss.

When I put my babies/toddlers bed we have special made up just for them. Each kid has their own song.

Within 10 minutes of their birth Dh gives them a knickname. It stays with them for life.

Every birthday everyone climbs into mum and dads a bed for presents and cake. Yep cake for breakfast on birthdays.

Birthday person gets to have whatever they want for dinner on their birthday. This lead to some weird dinners. Dd2 once requested.
Potato bake, wedgey bake, potatoes gems and potatoe salad.

    Christmas is full of rituals.

Default What rituals do you have in your house?

Since DS was about 2 we've had the same bedtime ritual - ( after toilet/teeth/fish oil) he and DH "wrestle" for ten mins on the bed while DH pretends to try and catch him to get his pjs on, then we read 1 book ( DH reads but we all jump into bed to listen) then I play a didi and b goodnight song video on my phone ( foxtel puppets) then lights out and I always ask what everyone's favourite part of the day was , we all take turns answering ( yesterday DS favourite was going bike riding with DH) then I say first "goodnight DS I love you, goodnight daddy I love you", then DH does the same then DS says " group hug, I love you mum I love you dad I love you guys ) and is usually asleep within 5 mins

Same as pp we also have tons of birthday/xmas/easter rituals

We sing our version of Warm Kitty, Soft Kitty - Warm Stephie, Soft Stephie - before bed time.

We sing This is the Way We Brush Your Teeth, and other versions for wiping the butt at nappy change time, and hair brushing after a bath.

Since DS was 2.5, after all the others bedtime stuff (get dressed, brush teeth and book) we talk about our day. We say what we did for the day, ask each other what our worst thing was, favourite thing was and what we are grateful for today. Gives me good vibes every night.

He still is figuring out the difference between worst thing, favourite and grateful but he is getting the hang of it.

We talk about everyone's day at the table while having dinner. When ready for bed the boys go hide and wait for dh to find them, they wrestle for a bit then we say a prayer, they get tucked in, dh and I give them each a kiss and cuddle, they tell us they love us and we them.

I have been singing my boys the 'river lullaby' after lights out since they were born. Ds1 even reminds me now if I am late.

Every night while I get DS ready for bed I sing La Vie En Rose - it was just stuck in my head one day when he was a really really new newborn, and now its just stuck! Sometimes I want to change the song but he gets cranky and says "mama!!" in a cranky voice. Then DH gives him cuddles and puts him to bed. As I leave the room I always say 'goodnight sweetheart, I love you more than everything' and kiss him on the forehead. I never forget this part, its the most important part ♡

When the kids were little, I would sing The Coventry Carol as their lullaby. Now that they are older, we have a ritual where each of us takes turn to decide dinner and a family activity on a Friday night.
