Default 60 minutes tonight - fatal distraction story

Is anyone going to watch this tonight?

There's a story about parents who have accidentally caused the death of their child by forgetting they have left them in the car

Nope. I haven't watched 60minutes in years and years.

I do remember watching an episode of Oprah many years ago on the subject.

    Utterly tragic

ETA 69 minutes? Where's my head at?!

I rarely watch it myself - there was a story about ASD & music that my MIL gave me the heads up about so I tuned in for that reason.

It's terrifying to know that our minds are capable of this

I've done it. Thankfully my sister was there to point it out as I was walking away from the car. My first DD no way would I have forgotten her. Second DD was quiet as a mouse in the car, I was tired and distracted by DD1. I get how easily it can happen. Now she's forward facing I can't miss her though. And noisy too!

Watching the story now and I cringed at the American lady who said something along the lines of "we were fortunate when they decided not to prosecute."

I can't help thinking a real parent wouldn't be focusing on their own fortune in a situation where their kid dies. Yes I'm judging, perhaps I wouldn't if the mum said something like "they decided not to prosecute but that didn't take away the heartache of losing out child."
