Default This is parenting moments. Just for fun

    Hey all,
It seems really quiet in here at the moment so I thought I'd start a light hearted thread for a bit of fun.
At church this morning dd (11 mo) decided she didn't want the biscuit she'd been eating after all and started to spit it out on the floor. As my hand shot out to catch the chewed slimy food I couldn't help but think "yep, this is parenting. No one but a parent tries to catch something this gross." 😜
Anyone else have a "this is parenting moment" to share?

Edited because sleep deprivation makes punctuation hard. πŸ˜‰

I remember the first time one of the kids did an exorcist style vomit in my my bed and all over me in the middle of the night and it wasn't just baby milk vomit. Life changed that night.

When you have double sheets on all the beds and towels next to them just for Mr 2. You can make up a bottle in 5 sec at 3am and all without your glasses!

When you are scrubbing vomit out of carpet at 2am on a Sunday and it's not because you were out drinking.

When you call your DP all excited to celebrate that your baby finally pooped after 3 days. And then the conversation goes into great description of the qualities of said poop.

When you talk about poo a LOT.

When you have conversations with other adults about the first time your child dropped the f-bomb, and you all find the discussion hilarious.

When you spend a good part of your precious night sleep time sitting beside a cot with a strong willed toddler who refuses to lay down for three straight hours. (I am hoping she later will turn this will into a successful career- I mean who in their right mind sits up from 1-4am just to pi55 off their mother?)

When you have "you're mean" or "I don't like you" screamed at your face and you just smile knowingly.

When you realise there isn't enough (insert food item here) to go around so you say something like "I'm full anyway" or "I don't really like that" even though you would eat it by the bucketful.

When you don't have a tissue so you're totally ok with wiping away snot with your bare hand and wiping it on your pants/shirt. I didn't even realise this was a parent thing until I did it in front of my childless sister who declared that I was gross. Nope, just a parent! πŸ˜‰

I think DD was anout 8 before she actually spewed anywhere except down my front.

Every single time she has ever been sick before then, she would crawl onto my lap and lay her head on my chest .... so any time she vomits, its mine

she finally learnt the art of spewing into a bucket though
