    Default Hashimoto

I went for another ivfa treatment. First try with Dr M. Finally got implantation but m/c at 6 weeks. It took me time to recover from these.

I had high thyroid antibodies. The more googling I did online, the more I believe it is to do with m/c and many years of no implantation during ttc.

Am trying to recover now physically and mentally.

All I want to tell those who are "unexplained" is that please check your thyroid antibodies. My TSH is normal and Australian doctors seldom check thyroid antibodies .

The immune treatment did help to bring down Nkc and thyroid antibodies I think, but the thyroid antibodies can cause m/c.

If someone else have hashimoto disease( high thyroid antibodies) but did manage to keep the pregnancy, please share your story. I just need some hope.

Can I ask what immune drugs you did for that cycle? And Is that the first time you've had a bfp?

I ask bcos I also have high anti thyroid peroxidase antibodies. I had no idea until my GP checked my thyroid antibodies last year. I have high ANA which more than likely is due to the high thyroid antibodies. And I also have moderately high NK cells according to Dr M.

I'm doing my first ever FET next month. I've NEVER been pregnant, not one bfp ever. And I'm am completely convinced it's due to the antibodies. So reading ur story rings VERY true for me.

I'd be really interested to know what your protocol was compared to what I'll be doing.

Again, am deeply sorry for ur loss : (
It's a difficult time for me. Hopefully I will get past this soon.

Yes first ever implantation after ttc for a few years.

FET should be better. I was on a fresh cycle and the ohss. I heard that might trigger the immune system to work harder.

    Clexane+Pred+Intralipid

I have heard that someone got antibodies down ( treatment not in AU) and got pregnant naturally. Before that, even Ivf failed.

I just read you my story. It gave me hope.

Sorry I m not quoting the right message though.

It seems 3 rounds of immune treatment can bring down immune activity and bfp is possible even if antibodies are still high.

Hi Hopeful59, sorry for the late reply. I had been seeing dr m for almost a year before my pregnancy. But it was only that long because I wanted to try for a few months naturally. I never really had a problem falling pregnant, just keeping the pregnancy. Eventually did fet so I could time meds properly, and got pregnant on 2nd attempt. Hang tight, if anyone knows what they're doing, it's him.

No idea where they are now but am going to my GP tomoro to ask for them to be tested again.

Makes me wonder if I should be starting the pred even earlier than cd 1 as Dr M has suggested.. Even just a low dose like 5mg for an extra week so that by FET I've been on it for almost 4 weeks... Food for thought anyway..
@charl @Charlie74 could you please share your dr m protocol for the fet. I've been prescribed pred and clexane again but previously used dosages suggested by another fs. I would do 5mg pred on day 3, raise to 15mg on day 5 then 20mg from day of transfer. Clexane was 20-40 per day from day of transfer. I'll also do low dose intralipids on day 10 this time. I want to know I'm doing everything possible. Thanks in advance x

Actually it's not me. One cycle of treatment already brought down antibodies etc. but it might not be stable enough in my case. While I see some others using med for three months and it seems immune calms down, and even if antibodies are high, it's better for carrying the pregnancy.

They will call but they probably won't have a fixed time. Depending on when Dr M is available, I once received his call close to 7 pm Sydney time( I am in Perth 5 pm)

    Default Hello :)

    Hi everyone,

I just found this thread today (well initially found the first one from a few years ago) and have been reading through it for hours, I haven't yet read through the most recent but I will hopefully get to it tomorrow (almost time for bed I think). It has been such a wealth of information so far. I haven't been diagnosed with high NK cells but have immune issues that are preventing me from having a successful pregnancy. I haven't been trying to conceive for very long (less than a year, so my heart breaks for all of you that have been trying for years) and have fallen pregnant three times and had 2 early miscarriages or perhaps chemical pregnancies (?), both have been about 5 weeksz and am currently pregnant 4 weeks + 5 days and am experiencing the same pain I experienced previously a few days to a week before so I am pretty convinced number three is on the way. After the last two I started seeing a fertility specialist in Melbourne as I already know I have high thyroid antibodies, a positive ANA (due to other symtoms..which I unfortunately have to see so many other specialists for) and a family history of miscarriages and my GP suggested this was the cause of the miscarriages also. The fertility specialist I saw did agree and put me on a bunch of vitamins, daily baby aspirin, second daily thyroxine, progesterone pessaries 1 x day 400mg, prednisilone 10mg 1x day and clexane 40mg 1 x day. Unfortunately I don't think this has helped. I will obviously have to wait and see and if needed I will discuss further options with her, however her nurse has explained that she will not prescribe any more than 10mg daily of prednisilone which compared to what other people seem to be on is pretty low. She never mentioned anything about NK cells (to be fair it had only been 2 miscarriages) but am now wondering if that might be an issue and even if not if Dr M might have a more successful protocol for my current issues, so thinking of booking a phone consultation with him if my fears are confirmed. Woah I just realised how much I went on, I'm sorry to jump in on the thread and then ramble about myself. I am sorry do everyone that has been on this journey for so long and understand that I am only at the beginning, but just feel like I want to be as pro active as possible because this past year has been devastating finding this thread has given me a little bit of hope. I did just instead to jump on and say hi for now. So Hi! I'm wishing happy outcomes for everyone on here
