Ceasar, if this one doesn't work out at least you have more knowledge now to put a new and different plan together. Took me 9 IVF attempts and about 18 embryos to work out what on earth was going on.

    Good Morning Ladies,

i am am hoping for a little feed back. We have been doing IVF for over 3 years now. 5 failed attempts of full cycles with The Fertility Centre in Dandegong and then getting a second opinion with Dr Nick Lolatigis. He found that I have extremely high NK cells (due to so many failed attempts which IVF at Dandegong) along with my husband and I sharing the following genes 01:01 and 01:02. We found this out back in April and have been pretty broken by it since. Dr Nick as many of you know is brilliant however blunt (which I must admit I like unlike Dandegong who were completely unhelpful) so the news was delivered in his style and was a shock. To our very limited knowledge we can still do ivf with our own egg and sperm and I would receive my husbands blood through injections. I was just wondering if anyone on here has had such success with this treatment through Dr Nick?mi now he is the only one who do it in Vic and I strongly believe if anyone can get it work it's him I would love any feed back from anyone who has been in our position.
We have decided to take the rest of the year off and start again next year but just gathering information for questions for Dr Nick.

    Thank you all

Welcome to the thread. I am in NSW so can't talk about the approaches of your clinic or Dr Nick specifically but I wanted to reassure you that NKC and shared gene's is a fairly 'standard' thing around here and you will undoubtedly have people going 'me too, this is what we did....'. It just means you need some extra protocols and drugs during your IVF cycles. Thre is no reason to think you can't be successful unless Dr N said something different ???

We tend to refer to both issues collectively (along with a few other things) as 'Immune issues' and sadly there are very few Specialists in Aus that even believe in them but Dr NL is one of them that a lot of BH'ers around here use so rest assured it sounds like you have found the right person.

A word though about leaving it too long ...... some of the Immune protocols can take some time to 'ramp up' while others are simply started as part of usual IVF drugs in a cycle, so you might want to get back to see Dr Nick as soon as you can and get a plan going even if the actual IVF cycle is not until sometime next year.

Good luck and don't worry !

Hi ladies sorry to gate crash your thread , I hope you can help me...

I'm looking for compound chemists in sydney that do a good price for progesterone pessaries ?
Im currently on dr M's immune protocol and he wants me to continue using 400 mg pessaries daily. My own clinic won't cooperate and I'm about to run out of them.
    Thanks in advance 🌸

    Hi Cathy69!

Thank you so much for getting back to me. He said it can be successful the percentage is just lower than your average success with typical IVF. I do believe however if anyone can get us there Dr Nick can.
I just turned 33 and my husband turns 30 in 2 weeks. We actually made an appointment to see Dr Nick again on December 11th so I am look forward to asking questions I couldn't think of last time we met. The think I like about Dr Nick is he said only does 3 full rounds of IVF and if it's unsuccessful he doesn't feel it's fair to just keep going round after round and if it doesn't we have discussed the using an egg donor so we will see.
    Fingers crossed it works

I was also on Dr M's pesseries protocol. After checking with him, I ended up not bothering with a compounding chemist and just bought Ovipro brand which were $47 for 15 at Chemist Warehouse and bought 2 packs at a time. Some compounding pharmacies do their own slightly cheaper but I found the convenience of CW was worth the extra few dollars. You can claim the difference you pay and $37.70 if you have private health insurance that covers pharmacy.

The compounding chemist I was going to use was Custom Care Pharmacy in Dural. You can email/fax the script and they have them ready about an hour later. They provide the pessaries for one of the big IVF clinics (can't remember which one) so have a constant stock.

Thanks ladies, that's great I'll make some calls tomorrow.
@Cathy69 I didn't think CW would stock them , that's pretty handy to know.

I only ever went into one CW that didn't have them.

Sorry, should have added a 'don't go to' compounding pharmacy (cost not quality) ... Macquarie St Chemist in Sydney CBD - they supply Genea's and charge $165 for 30 (I nearly fell over when they told me their price....). Good luck with the calls tomorrow.

Hi Jojosniss, welcome! I've been around these traps for over 2 years now and also just consulted with Dr Nick a month ago and had the genetic test for the first time with him. God knows why Dr Matthias never tested me with this and I've been seeing him for 2 years I got Nick to call me with match results and then got his letter the other day. I showed my husband and said how devastated you would be if you were new in this game of immune issues by his abrupt letter. Basically it said, you have a match and the only way to have a baby is with donor sperm. Talk to you soon. That was it!!!

We most fortunately already have a genetic child with no immune treatment at all so I wasn't too hurt but wow is he abrupt! You are both so young, you will get there. I'm going to be doing LIT with Dr Matthias as I am in Sydney and Dr M also said I should do neupogen and IVIG for the matches and NK cells in uterus. Nick suggested IVIG too but he doesn't treat with neupogen his nurse told me today, he is open to it though. So you might want to consult with Dr M too over the phone and send him your results?

I must say I am disappointed with the "reading" of the matches - Dr M was looking at different matches on the same piece of paper to the ones that Nick had highlighted. Admittedly I highlighted the ones I took to Dr M, not knowing anything, but he never said I was wrong. Then Dr Nick sends me his copy with different numbers highlighted. WTF??? So I am totally confused and also at a loss with all this immune stuff. It seems most people are just guessing and it's very depressing to take such expensive and dangerous drugs on a guess. Anyway, I know that's the case for all of us and so many have had success.

I really hope you are pregnant soon, at least you are with a good immune believing doc and a friend of mine said she overheard a nurse saying once that Nick could get a rock pregnant. So there you go!!! Good luck with it all
