I ask bcos I've got a phone appt with Dr M.. Once I have some info from him, then I'm gonna have to figure out/ decide how I go about getting the treatment... Flying to Sydney seems ridiculous.. So the other option is wot girls in here have suggested- to then see Dr L & ask him to treat me using Dr M's protocol.. All of which feels more than slightly awkward.. But I guess that's a small price to pay if it gets us a child in the end?? I'll be really keen to hear how u go with Dr L hon.. Hope it's positive for you
hi Chrarlie74 .. Sorry I Skipped your post.. Yes I have had 2 appointments with Dr M on the phone.. In. The first appt he discussed my history and ordered some blood tests and in the second appt he discussed the results and why should be followed..

when I booked with Dr L , it was abt. 2 month wait Approximately. If you are planning to see him , it would be a good idea to make a booking in advance .. And yes all this can be very overwhelming at times but we have to keep doing it to achieve our dream. Good luck for everything Hun xx

just let you know I don't have any side effects when I was taking prednisone 25mg, then my cycle failed. Therefore I asked Dr M to change to Dex ( stronger one). Sue, don't keep thinking why the abnormal one implanted the tested one can't because lots of time the pregnancy will activate your NK and antibodies, that is why your blood test results are different with the one you did before, that's why the implantation is not happening to the perfect tested embryo now. Without any treatment, there will be very small chance for the implation. If you think, the treatment is too much, then you can start with small dosage, but you may have to suffer the pain from the failing cycle. At the end, IVF is not cheap as well, how many more cycles can you offered. I know lots of ladies chose to have more aggressive treatments than DR M suggested, because of the pain of failing cycles out weight the side effects from the drugs. I am one of them. Hope this will help you.
Thanks so much Littledragon2013...it's a great help. After reading your post , I have actually stopped thinking why my a normals ones implanted and normal ones didn't. I am praying for positivity for all of us xx

Thanks!!! This does begin to make me feel better. I've been such a mess about this--who knows what will work to get us pregnant, and it is doubly frustrating when different doctors have different approaches and theories. It sometimes feels like my anxiety is sky high. And of course my husband doesn't understand why I am on the internet and not fully trusting my doctors. But he too doesn't know which doctor to listen to. Sorry. I'll stop venting now.

But I'm glad to hear that you have had success with this combination fo drugs!

I just had mild endo removed and have high uterine NK cells (28 cells per high power field). One doctor, Dr NL in Melboune, thinks I should be on Dex, intralipids, clexane. Another doctor in the US--who is very knowledgeable, but also conservative, and isn't really fully convinced about NK cells, thinks I should just do Neupogen and nothing else. In particular, he seems to think that steroids and Neupogen counteract each other. I have Dr NL's blessing to do the Neupogen with the Dex and intralipids. But maybe I should do just the Neupogen, or just the Dex/intralipids/clexane. Ugh. My head is spinning and this is stressing me out to no end.

Also, if this next FET doesn't work, I am considering consulting with Dr M. Does he do the Chicago tests? And does he monitor blood tests during pregnancy?

If you have any experience or thoughts it would be greatly appreciated.

For those of you struggling with making a decision on which way to go for treatment, I thought I"d share my thought process when making the decision.....An FS specialises in Fertility, a reproductive immunoligist specialises in immune issues.....Its like I wouldn't get an electrician out to look at my plumbing problems with the toilet (if you know what I mean). For me it was quite straight forward as I'm quite analytical in my thinking process, it was quite easy for me to choose Dr M and I knew my FS was not knowledgeable enough in this area.

Every FS is different. Mine was fine with me seeing Dr M.....probably because before i took on Dr M I gave my FS the Dr Beers book to read but even then it was above him.
It really shouldn't interfere with your IVF trestment so they shouldn't care, they just need to worry about IVF.

I also use Dr M but no FS at all because I am using donor eggs. My understanding with the Immune things ie Dr M, is that he doesn't treat egg or sperm quality though he does make suggestions re supplements etc. His job is about preparing our bodies for hanging onto embryo's when they are transferred and maintaining a pregnancy; not for the quality of the embryo.

My personal opinion is that I am not sure why you wouldn't start Immune stuff immediately. If you have immune issues, it is unlikely that even if you pick the most perfect embryo through PGD, you are likely to have success if your body is just going to reject it because the immune system isn't being treated. Being one that did cycle after cycle with no success until I added Immune, I shudder at my wasted embryo's and costs of the pre-Dr M cycles.

I don't know about Dr M or Alan Beer, but I have read out there on the web that there is some thought that GSCF and even Dex may improve egg quality. Of course I don't know if this is true and the truth is that there aren't adequate studies for any of this stuff. But I do believe that Dr B prescribes GSCF from Day 1 of stimulated cycles because he believes it helps with egg quality.

Trust me I have no intention of doing any transfers of embryos until or unless I'm getting adequate treatment for my immune issues! I'll do a cycle, do PGS testing, then only do a transfer once I'm being treated for the immune issues.
Appreciate your advice ladies : )
