Ya emby79 sounds great
Well we are doing it again - cycling in September.
This will make cycle number 5 for us (4 fresh and 1 frozen). After our cycle last September I was basically told by my FS that we would need donor eggs. Not ready to give up on my own eggs yet - not when I'm only 32 and have an AMH of an 18 year old.
So my FS has got me on a tiny bit of Testogel every day (first blood test tomorrow to see how it is going) as the Directors (my FS is one) of the clinic have round table discussions regularly about cases where patients, like ourselves, only ever get B grade embryos and they discussed that having patients use the Testogel for 2-3 weeks before starting the cycle (instead of DHEA which is over a longer period) and higher amounts of Gonal-F to help mature the eggs and hopefully improve their quality.
Hopefully this could be the game changer. If not I honestly don't know what we will do next. So expecting my period around 1-5 September at this stage.
I'm nervous, freaking out, a bit excited and going into this with no expectations.
Baby dust to you all
Great news emby79
@jeb8303 - omg, your story is SO similar to mine the first time around! I had done four stims and one FET with terrible results (never had better than a morula fresh, and my FET was a dodgy day 6 blasty). My FS was talking donor eggs, even though I was only 31 at the time with normal AMH -- we already have to use donor sperm which is why we were originally doing IVF. But I wanted to give it one last-ditch effort with my eggs for stim #5. So he put me on 3 months of DHEA and Testogel, and I had the maximum dose of Gonal-F during stims (600iu), along with Saizen injections (expensive growth hormone). That cycle, I got 15 eggs, all mature, TEN fertilised (never had more than two fertilise previously), and ended up with four day 5 blasties and one "borderline" day 6. We transferred two, and got our beautiful DS who is nearly 18 months old. And in three weeks we're having the remaining two day 5 blasties transferred.... not holding my breath, but definitely worth a try.
I hope the Testogel and extra Gonal works for you. I was on more of a cocktail of stuff, but who knows what actually worked the real magic?
Sariele you have mentioned these dodgy day 6 blastocysts. I found out in the last couple of days that the two embryos my clinic froze were both day 6 ones. The first one was unsuccessful and now I'm about to transfer another. They said the ideal is a day 5 but no concern with a day 6. Now reading your message I'm really sceptical of any chance with this last transfer. I feel like I'm always behind the eight ball with what is happening 😖😖😖
wow that is crazy how similar our situations are. We also have MFI and our first 3 cycles (2 fresh and 1 frozen) we did at a different clinic who never gave us an answer why it kept happening
I always get around 14-16 eggs and usually around 12 can be injected and we usually have around 8 fertilise but they continue to drop off and never get above a B grade or are fragmented and at day 5 are only early blasts or morula' so I am crossing my fingers and toes that this could be the change we need.
Caesar I read a study not long ago about day 6 and day 5. Day 5s have a better success rate but day 6 still has decent odds which is why they don't throw them away
So I saw my FS this morning just to pick his brain over why I started spotting 4 days after transfer all the way to my period. As I had no blood tests he had no real definitive answers. But has decided to put me on progesterone from my ovulation day. Has anyone had this? Did it work. He's hoping it will keep my lining nice and thick and less likely to shed early.
