Thanks everyone; I think it's pretty clear I need a second opinion.

Interestingly once I kicked up a small stink to our nurse I got an email from our FS receptionist saying he can see us in two weeks. I should be happy but it adds to my frustration. Why wouldn't she have just given me that appointment when I called this morning?! I hate the politics and run around... aren't these people supposed to be helpful?!

I'm waitlisted to see Lynn Bermeister at Monash as I'm not all that keen to repeat tests etc. Having said that I contacted City Fertility today and am waiting for a call back from David Wilkinsons office. DH is very keen to try another clinic just to see if we have a better 'feeling' about it.

Such a waste of time and money this has been!

Thanks again ain for all your feedback... Such a pity any of us are going through this but the support women show for each other is truely amazing.

August? Yep, new FS. I have my FS' mobile number to give you a comparison in terms of access and care...

I would say to start looking around. That is so disappointing and it doesn't sound like anyone there is being very understanding or caring.

We are with City Fertility in Melbourne. We see David Wilkinson. We love him and absolutely adore our nurses. I couldn't recommend them enough.

You're better off some extra money on another consult fee and being happy where you are. IVF is hard enough.

I also second getting a second opinion. You can get a referral from your GP for a few specialists- you can have the initial appointment with the FS and then decide if they are a good fit for you. You will be out of pocket $70-$80 each time (or much more with Lynne b- I hear she charges $500 for first appointment). But really 70-80 is small change compared to sticking with a FS you don't like or trust to know what the right thing for you is.
I initially saw a FS at Monash but didn't like the doc, the nurse or the reception staff (three from three), so I looked elsewhere and very happy.

Default Feeling lost- should I change clinic/ FS?

Changing FS was the best decision I made. I was with my previous one for 3 cycles of OI and he barely had any contact with me during the treatments.

On top of that, I hated the thought of visiting him as they're the most expensive conversations on road cycling I've ever had! 👿

I finally decided to take the plunge and change and my new FS was a breath of fresh air.

He genuinely cared and took it personally when things failed (three more OI cycles, 1 stim and 1 FET). Which was very nice to see the concern (as opposed to being a "number").

He also took it upon on himself to ensure I got my sessions in time and even wrangled dates on my forms so I could continue treatment on older payment rates as opposed to the newly jacked up rates - on top of waiving session fees as well! (It all adds up!!). I also feel like he listens to me as opposed to just "treating" me, if that makes any sense?

So yes, very happy customer here.

As you're feeling the way you do and that you have posted here about it, I think you're ready to make the move.

I stayed with the same private fertility company (IVFA), but changed doctors (got my GP to write me a new referral).

Good luck with your decision and I hope you find someone you like.

I'm with IVFA as well. Been thinking of getting a second opinion but at Genea. May I ask who was your previous FS and who's the new one?
    Thank you. Xx

I was thinking about checking out Genea as well, but stuck to the same clinic for ease of paperwork transition and not having to go through all the testing processes again. If I'm unsuccessful after another two cycles I'll possibly switch clinics. I'll PM you the other details.
