Default snacks and drinks for kids on flights.

This will be the first time my kids will have ever been on a plane and im unsure of what sort of snacks and drinks i am allowed to take on a domestic flight? Are there any restrictions on certain foods? Do i need to tell them i have food upon check in?

    Thanks..

You can take anything onboard except hot drinks. Be aware that depending on where you are going you may need to throw the food out when you get there. Fresh fruit, nuts, honey etc can't be taken into a few states such as WA and Tas.

    Thanks everyone.
We are leaving from tas to Brisbane, so i will need to remember to not pack fruit and nuts...
I will also assume that i can take my kids carseats (not on board...but with my checked baggage) at no extra charge considering all my kids are under the age of 7? Is that correct?
    Btw we are flying jetstar..

most snacks are fine. lollies, chips, sandwiches, cracker biscuits, muesli bars.

Fresh fruit is sometimes not allowed, but something like a fruit salad that you are consuming on the plane is fine, you are just not allowed to bring some fruits and veggies OFF the plane again.

Drinks - you may well struggle to get drinks through airport security. They dont like liquids.

perhaps take a couple of empty drink containers and fill them up with water after you pass through security. Otherwise you have to buy drinks at the airport (after security - even stuff you buy at the airport, but before security you cannot take through)

You can purchase snacks and drinks on the plane also - but they are pretty expensive when you start buying for a few kids

Just take the empty drink bottles. There are plenty of places to fill up once through check in.

    NO liquids over 100mls

Have you checked about the car seats with Jetstar? I would call and double check as they can charge it as additional luggage depending on your ticket type.
