Wow! @SoReady! I'm tearing up! Congratulations on your little boy. While it is less than ideal circumstances, I am so happy to hear that your little man is doing well. I hope you are too.

Sending you both speedy recoveries. Keep us updated on your progress. xxxx

Thanks. He will likely remain at this hospital in the NICU for a few weeks (usually to 32-34 weeks gestation is normal if they are breathing on their own). Then he will be transferred to my private hospital much closer to home into the special care nursery anywhere up to his original due date. So we are in for a long road yet

SoReady - l hope he is transfered to special care soon, guessing things would be a bit easier in special care rather than NICU. Have you had a cuddle yet? Hope your recovering ok from the c-section. Have you named him yet?

I hope everyone else is well!

Thanks ladies. Well good news is that today he has graduated from the highest level of NICU care. He has increased his feeds enough to no longer need IV fluids. I got cuddles last night too which was amazing. He is still using the cpap mask for breathing assistance but that is the only thing really keeping him here in the NICU now so as long as that is gone by next Saturday when he reaches 32 weeks we should be on the move. I'm going home today!

I'm not too bad freakedout44. Though trying to rest as much at home with a toddler and travel in each day is going to be tough. Plus I really need to up the pumping which is tiring. It will be much easier once he is closer to home
His name is Kobe. It's a Swahili name.
