@SoReady I was thinking France's Perry but also might go public with private midwife? Still looking at options. My local public hospital is the women's which is one of the only tertiary maternity hospitals and most private Ob's at FP have public appointments at the women's. My private health ins will cover all the prenatal classes etc. so much to think abt. I will check out Emily Olive (love her name already)! Thanks for the recommendation!
Yes it's a lot to consider NizzleRizzle. I had no idea who to choose but was recommended Emily by my FS and I used her with DS so I'm more than happy to go back to her, she's not cheap though but specialises in high risk.
Ill be going through Frances Perry. I toyed with the idea of going public but Ive had a miscarriage previously, and Im on a bit of high alert atm. I also have difficulty with work (travel commitments), so I think the private ob model is the best choice for me.
SIL recommended Womens Obstetric and Gynae Services (WOGS) so I think I will use them as well.
I'm currently 7w2d with my first scan on Thursday. I'm been having some cramping on and off over the last couple of days, similar to period pain. Did you guys experience anything like this? I know some cramping is normal - but I'm not sure how much is some and I'm really paranoid!
Hi freakedout44, I also got quite a bit of cramping around the 7/8 week mark with both my last pregnancy and this one. It was slightly worse with the last one. It's just your muscles and ligaments expanding. Of course if you have any bleeding get it checked but otherwise I'd say it's pretty normal. I got it low and right across the pelvic bone like period pain but now I just get them down my right side
It's hard not to be paranoid with cramping. I had mild cramping about week 6 and even now (11.5 wks) it comes and goes. Mine is usually in the lower right hand side.
Like soready said, I wouldn't be overly concerned (easier said than done!) unless there is bleeding
Good luck for Thursday!! Hopefully you see the heartbeat
NizzleRizzle - Thanks for the welcome! I have a 3 year old daughter, Im so excited to give her a sibling, I thought it wouldnt happen. Hope you find a fab OB. Im from Melbs too, but Im going public, I did with my daughter so Im happy to go to same hospital for this one.
Barca07 - Thanks, its such a HUGE relief to see the HB isnt it!
SoReady - thanks for the welcome!
Freakedout - I too had the cramping, still have it a little, it really does scare you but as the others have said its fairly normal. All the best for your scan tomorrow .
Well, my eating habbits have turned so bad, lol, all I seem to want are toasted cheese sandwhiches and hot chips ! I really want to eat healthy this pregnancy as I had GD last time and I want to try and avoid this time around if I can! Every time I think to eat veggies, I want to gag ...lol.
Thanks for welcoming me, its been a while since I was on bubhub, but I was in a DIG for my daughter and found it so helpful to have people to chat to .
I was thinking we could start a roll call to keep track of our due dates and scans/appts, what do you all think?
Welcome to all the newbies and congratulations
A roll call sounds like a brilliant idea @SugarBerry
@NizzleRizzle I'm so excited that your HCG numbers went up and we can officially celebrate!! When is your scan? I was a complete blood test addict and kept arranging them myself just to check the levels were going up until we had the scan!!
I'm also with Emily Olive at St Vincent's Private. I work with a group of paeds there so know lots of the obs so let me know if you have any names! Emily is great!
@freakedout44 How did your scan go?
