    Default Sperm Analysis Opinion Needed

    Hi All,

New to the forum, recently done a sperm test and was immediately referred to a specialist without much explanation from my GP.

Could anyone please explain this test result...

By the looks of the results you have a low sperm count.
Many things can cause this my partner had low sperm count due to recreational steroid use for body building. Easily fixed and he is now fine

Also it looks like ur motility is a lot less than average , I'm not an expert I'm just reading ur results, there may be a few explanations.
Motility is the way the sperm move ect yours us below average , but also the amount of semen you produced is also slightly below the norm.
Sorry not sure if I'm making sense

You have the bottom end of normal for your sperm count which is classed as 20 million and over as normal and you are 22. It's your progressive motility that isn't fabulous, although over 35% is classed as normal, yours is 36 but your rapidly mobile is only 9%.

It also seems they didn't test morphology?

If it makes you feel better, my husband's progressive was 6% He took Menevit and I was pregnant in 2.5 months Don't stress, those results aren't terrible, just not great. With a change of diet and Menevit you can easily turn it around in a very short time.

Do you mind me asking how long he didn't ejaculate before having the SA? It seems to me that there is a lot of non motile sperm.
This SA is unfortunatly on the low side of things but not devastatingly bad. You would still have great success with IVF. My father had only 4m count with less than half vialble and my mum fell naturally the cycle before their first ivf.

Does he smoke and drink? Hubby did pot a week or so before the SA and had some confused swimmers...

Thanks to everyone that replied. I'm a bit disspointed about Motility and having to learn that there isnt much that can be done. And I cant afford IVF nor I want to end up with 4 or 5 kids. Will wait to see if the specialist has anything better to say.
