I'm so sorry for my late message miss kitty - this thread was from when I was offline in Bali for 2 weeks.

Same as everyone else here, I'm so sad for you and will be hoping and wishing you a positive outcome. Huge hugs x

Oh thanks for thinking of me dancingchipmunk and for your lovely thoughts, Pesca.

Unfortunately, DH isn't compatible but that's ok. I've had heaps of appts at the renal unit and I'll be honest in saying I've had my tears and meltdowns but the staff are so lovely and supportive and ready to give hugs - really special people.

Basically the plan is that when the time comes which could be as early as December but hopefully I have a bit more time, I'll be doing Peritoneal Dialysis (have a google if your interested) which basically means I'll have a tube inserted into my abdomen under a GA and I'll dialyse through that four times a day, seven days a week. The process takes approx 30 mins all up (each time - so all up two hours per day) but I'll go through training etc... before it all starts and I'll be able to do this on the farm, after the initial training and start up that is. Can't say I'm stoked to have a tube hanging out of my gut, but DH and I have already christened it "The Dangler" lol.

I have good and bad days, the fatigue can be extreme, but I'm severely anaemic so have started on weekly Epo injections to get my haemoglobin up a bit. Apart from that, I'm forgetful, feel nauseas/vomit throughout the day - joy! Just like being preggo!

So, I'm hanging in there xxx

I'm sorry to hear your dh wasn't compatible.

You come across as having a great attitude. I love that you have been able to name your tube

I'm glad you've been able to receive so many hugs. I know it's not the same but here's some more (virtual) hugs.

N,aww! Thank you - hugs are the best medicine. I do try to be positive and just get on with it. I think that the more difficult circumstances I've faced, with our third being prem and spending his first 8 weeks in the hospital and now this, you see how strong people are. How mush people go through everyday to just get up, get out of bed and get going - you get these little gifts of insight.

I am also learning to accept and embrace my down days, sometimes fighting to stay happy takes more energy than just surrendering to the downward loop of the rollercoaster and riding it out the other side.

You do every day. You just don't know it. I watch what you do and you inspire me. You post pretty things and make me smile, you share my love of Deb and Doakes and I went to bed giggling and annoying DH with random quotes "Holy FrankenF#CK!! SNAKES!!!" ( yell that one when they're nearly asleep)
