It's a second chance at life.
This makes me have tears. What an inspiration you are. I hope my daughter has your strength when faced the chronic health issues in her life that she's not totally aware of right now.
Amazing. 6 months! ! Enjoy and eat some mangoes.

They say your chances increase if you get through the first year but no one can really say how long a kidney will last for, so there's no guarantees and you just have to take it step by step.

Makes you enjoy each day you get, huh? It's funny how these things really put life into perspective. With my DD's cancer there are things I appreciate now that I totally took for granted 4 months ago. Actually it's 4 months to the day that we were admitted to hospital. Wow.

Yeah it does. I honestly can't comprehend what you or @Tamtam deal with in terms of having a child facing this crap and it is indeed crap but it never ceases to amaze me how awesome humans are. Doesn't matter if we're big or little, we rise to the challenge.
You're in my thoughts always (even the peacock!)
