Oh thanks for asking @Cue xx. I'm feeling ok. I managed to get a bit of sleep in between the check ups so that was good. I was all keen to get out of bed and have a shower but it became apparent that I'm still a bit weak for that! But I had a wipe over and brushed my teeth so feel a lot fresher.
I have been moved on to the clear fluids diet so had clear chicken broth and a cup of black tea for breakfast and my golly gosh it tasted good!
The doctors are happy with my kidney and said things are going as well as they could possibly be going.
The pain team have just been and we're still trying to get the right pain meds happening because the fentanyl is not doing a great deal other than making me sooooo itchy!
On the up side, I got some lovely (and hilarious ) cards from my big two and my youngest sent me "the biggest smile he has" so I'm a lucky, lucky girl.
I still keep thinking that this must be a dream. I must admit though, my thoughts are never far from my donors family and friends. I hope that I'll be able to send them a letter in the future to be able to let them know just how much this incredible gift means to me and my family.
I had to share these cards - the
gokidney gois from my DD and the one underneath is from DS1 and it's hard to see but he's written "My mum is more precious than gold". Bless!
