Thank you all for all the thoughts and well wishes. The op took about five hours and it's all been quite the rollercoaster ride so far.
They are very happy with the age of the kidney and it's a fantastic match but it has been taking time for the kidney to "wake up" and begin to function and a scan has revealed a slight issue with one of the vein connections.
I've also been in quite a bit of pain but have seen the pain management team and we'll hopefully get that under control.
I can only see DH for the duration of my hospital stay because of the infection risk but will face time the kids when I look a touch less scary!
I'll have to spend 12 weeks in Perth and have daily blood tests to ensure all my anti rejection medications (that I'll be on for life) are balanced.
Feeling very emotionally drained which they say is brought on by the medications so lots of tears today.
DH and my mum are at Wicked with the two big kids right now but will see DH tonight and I'm hanging out for a cuddle.
Will update you all ASAP 😘😘
