I can't thank all of you enough for all your thoughts and kind wishes. I think all your good vibes helped because my appointments went really well.

The two surgeons are going to collaborate and do both ops together on December 6th so hernia will be fixed and parathyroid removed in one shebang. The surgeon doing my hernia said he's going to try his best to ensure that my peritoneum isn't compromised and then I can continue with my PD. There's a fair chance that he will need to cut the peritoneum so I probably will need to switch to haemo and have the six weeks in Perth while I heal. That's quite doable though because school and harvest will be just about finished so it will mean only a week or two away from DH and my big two kids.

All in all I'm feeling really positive about it all. Team misskitty can do this!

    What a freakin' day!
Woke up at six as usual, day was fine until 10am when I just felt so weird and off and knew instantly my hernia had become strangulated. I tried pushing it back in but no go and it was becoming more painful so I rang DH who was harvesting and he said he was coming straight home.

This took 45 minutes and by this time I was in quite a bit more pain, sweaty, vomiting and trying to deal with a 3 year old and pack bags.

We got in the car and I was sick a few more times and then dozed off and woke up about 2.5 hours later (still driving) and knew it had popped back in.

OMG....too much stress for this old duck! DH is going home tomorrow but I'm going to stay in Perth until my surgery with mum and dad and DS3 because I just can't risk it.

Big kids are sad and I am sad but I just need this hernia fixed.

Gosh you poor thing. It must be horrible to be away from the big kids and dh but given what you went through today, being near to hospital seems like a good idea. Big hugs and best wishes.
