My kids had their first day back for term four today and my girl was sick - she had high fevers over night. body aching, tummy upset and so of course I kept her home. She was so upset to not see her friends and do all the nine year old girl things that a nine year old girl needs to do but later in the day we were sitting on the couch and she looked at me and said "There's one really good thing about this". I said "What's that?" She said "That my mum is home to make me soup and look after me". That child just about KILLED me in her early years - she did not sleep. Ever. She cried all the time and I honestly didn't feel close to her until she was about four or five but now we're doing good and that was one of my grateful moments for today.

I'm getting what's left of my hair cut off on Thursday - bring it on.

So stressed and trying to not eat own arm off with nerves. Specialist tomorrow and I just know two more surgeries are in my near future. I know my Para Thyroid Gland needs to come out and I'm okay with that even though it means I'm off the list until it's sorted, but this massive hernia at the top of my bowel re-section incision needs to be dealt with and that's going to mean no PD while it's done and while it heals, so Perth for I'm guessing 6-8 weeks. More time away from home, another bloody hickman line in my neck and back to haemodialysis.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself, nothing is scheduled yet, but realistically, this is what will happen and it bloody sucks.

    It just never ends.

Oh Miss Kitty, I can't blame you for the nerves, awaiting news from a Specialist when you know it's not going to be great is always horrible and anxiety ridden, it's only natural to be anxious and nervous of the unknown.
Big, big for you for tomorrow's appointment.

Thank you It really does help to dump it here on you all, just to "say" it somewhere other than in my head. I think it's not so much the operations, which are a bit yuck, that bother so much but it's the idea of telling the big kids. Knowing that they'll be upset hurts much more than any physical pain but, I guess the school year doesn't have that much to go...but then there's harvest...all too hard!

Oh darling, I have no doubt it would all feel insurmountable right now and goodness knows you have been through the mill already! Kids are pretty amazing and perceptive, they are so resilient and when they see you hurting or worried, they have that inbuilt ability to reassure you that all will be well, even if deep down they will be worried and missing you etc. They wouldn't want you upset for them. I am so sorry you and your beautiful family are going through this, I really am. I wish it were different for you all.
