Day 10- Kids crafts / artwork / schoolwork
Sort through the art and craft stuff you have. Decide what important works your children have completed that needs to be saved. For the creations you don’t have space for … take a photo of them, and you can keep the memory without the dust. (if your child is a crafty type, print the photo’s for an art gallery/photo album)

and a catch up for those who are late starters - or who have missed any ...

    1St June – A great way to start ... a small de-clutter.
Walk around the house and find 20 things that you don’t need, use or want to freecycle.

*google freecycle in your local area to give away unwanted items rather than send them to landfill.

    Cleaning Green
The best way to stock your green cleaning kit is with an economy-size box of baking soda, a gallon jug of vinegar, and some basic table salt in as large a quantity as you can find. Baking soda is an excellent green cleaning product to use throughout your home, especially in the kitchen. It's also food-safe and has no odor. Baking soda is mildly abrasive, yet it can't harm your surfaces, whether they're linoleum or expensive imported Italian marble.
You may also want to keep lemons and lemon juice around for some of the tasks described below. Vinegar and lemon can often serve the same purpose, but lemon has a much nicer scent

First of all – PUT SOME MUSIC ON !!! Cleaning is always better with music.

    Day 2 - Bathroom Vanity
    If you have 2 bathrooms – then 2 vanity’s :P
Time to ditch those 5 shampoo bottles that are nearly finished (or add them all into one and use them as bath bubble).

    Day 3 - Linen Cupboard
Clear out anything unused or unneeded (Hubbers suggest contacting your local animal shelter or RSPCA to donate old linen), re fold and re organise.

    Day 4 – Laundry Cupboard
Time to clear out the laundry cupboard. Any old or expired chemicals need to be disposed of carefully. Re-organise .. with old plastic containers or if you can, some pretty new ones.

Day 5 - Windows and Window Sills
Vacuum all the bugs and grime from window sills and fittings.

Give the windows a wash or wipe - remember though, this is only supposed to be 20 or 30 minutes, so just do what you can. A full wash of every window in the house isn’t going to happen . For any outside windows (if you are keen), wash the window, then rinse with a mixture of water and a few caps of dishwasher finish … leaves no drips or water marks and keeps them clean for longer.

    Day 6 – Rest Day

    Day 7 – Clothes Cupboards – Part I
Today is yours and your partners. We have a 2 year rule in my house .. anything that has not been worn in 2 years is tossed. (This obviously doesn’t apply to my clothes, only DH’s :lol ). If you are squeezed for space, some vacuum space bags are a great investment. Tiered coathangers are also a great space saver.

Day 8 - Clothes Cupboards – part II
Kids !!! Bag up for storage/donation/friends any clothes that don’t fit. Put away all the summer stuff if you haven’t already. Reorganise whatever you can … it will only last a day before the kids trash it again … but for that 1 day it will be lovely.

    Day 9– Shoes !!!!
Go through the whole families shoe’s, tossing anything too worn or that doesn’t fit.

    Did You Know …
According to a poll conducted by ShopSmart Magazine, the average woman owns 19 pairs of shoes, and one-third of women have a hard time finding a place to put them all. So – ‘fess up now, how many do you own?

Day 10- Kids crafts / artwork / schoolwork
Sort through the art and craft stuff you have. Decide what important works your children have completed that needs to be saved. For the creations you don’t have space for … take a photo of them, and you can keep the memory without the dust. (if your child is a crafty type, print the photo’s for an art gallery/photo album)

Skip- we don't have arts and crafts stuff... I sorted the kids' beds instead.

    Day 11 - Toys!!!!
Time to clear out the toy cupboard. Anything unused, broken or grown out of to get tossed, donated or handed down. If this is a big job – just do a little part of it. Remember – this is a 20 minute challenge, so if it’s a big job, pick a smaller part.

Ok, went through DSD's toybox, and threw out half the stuff, plus all her jewelry making crap. She gets a new set every birthday and never goes near them.

40+ pairs, not including walking/running/hiking shoes or thongs . And I do have trouble finding room for them all! But at the same time I think there's only one or two pairs that could go. I went through my shoes a couple of months ago and got rid of the old/worn/dodgy ones. I have lots of everyday choices plus many are seasonal/occasional that go with "an outfit" so while they might not get worn regularly, they do get worn for special events/weddings, etc. My DH shakes his head but knows it's best to keep his mouth shut...

Off to do the linen cupboard now!

    Day 12 - Toys Part 2 - Out-door time
If you have a toy room, it might take more than 20 minutes … so today is day 2 to do the toy room. If not, then today is the day to clean up any outside toys, sweep paths/paving, wash down climbing equipment, clean out cubby, wipe leaves off trampoline … whatever you have.
