    Default Married at first sight...

Interested to see what others opinions are on married at first sight?

Would you have an arranged marriage?

I'm horrible at picking good guys so maybe I need this hehe 😀

This show doesn't annoy me because they aren't really married. It's more like a big date. It's no different to the bachelor etc....

    Only by doctors lol

I've got to admit I'm interested to see if any of the "marriages" work out.

I know the stats are that arranged marriages have lower divorce rates but I wonder whether that's due to the cultural expectations that are common in amongst societies which have arranged marriages rather than it being about the fact that the marriages were arranged. If that's the case I don't think the tv couplings are going to have a great shot as none of those expectations really exist.

I think the whole show is likely a crock of sh!t. The people on it are probably similar to those types who go on Big Brother; they want self exposure and fame, perhaps using this "shocking" avenue to get a foot in the door in the entertainment industry. Yeah they are probably also struggling in the relationship department so it's killing two birds.
I could be wrong though. But I really struggle to believe that these people are genuine. I don't think they are taking the whole marriage thing seriously at all, how could they be based on this format?

Will I be watching? You bet I like my trash TV just as much as the next person

I love it. I have been watching the 2nd series of the American one and it's really good. By the way 2 out of the 3 couples in the 1st one are still married

I don't agree they are looking for fame at all, I think they are genuine.

And would I do something like this? Hell yeah.

I actually know one of the female participants and she's very genuine. She applied for it long before it was revealed to her what the show actually was, and was then given the option, once short listed, to pull out if she wasn't comfortable. Her attitude is that it's another way of meeting someone, her first marriage didn't work out and she wanted to try something different with an open mind. She's a lovely girl and pretty much what you see on the show is what you get.

I'm watching the show right now for the first time and I'll admit I only formed my opinion from the TV ads I'd seen- I actually do think its completely different to what I'd expected. The participants DO seem genuine. It's not fake like I'd presumed it would be.
    Pleasantly surprised!
