Look I'm brutal about names. I can't stand made up crap names. But I actually like it and I wouldn't blink if one of my friends used it. I really don't understand what they're on about? The only thing I think if is Dennis Quade. But when a kid is called Finn I think of Neil Finn. And when a child is called Cooper I think of a guy at work

I like it. A good strong name that would suit many surnames.

Bogan, smogan, *any* name these days are called bogan, and I think it's poor form what has been said to you irl OP.

I like it, it sounds strong and as a pp said, would go with most surnames.

Whilst it isn't somehting I would name my own child, I can't see any reason why anyone would pick on it? It's not awful at all, not bogan at all. It's not a made up name with made up spelling, it's not funny sounding or embarrassing. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it.

It's a nice name. I can't really see kids picking on him for it...that's usually left for those with names that sound like something that can be made fun of. Like Wayne King or Jack **** (nothing against those names, just an example).

And just to add a different perspective about "made-up" names...all names (and words) are made up. I understand that people changing spelling of names or coming up with new unique names can come off a bit pretentious, but it's not like there's a name tree where they grow and you should be picking names from it. They're all "invented". Language evolves constantly. And so do names.

I am a total boring schmoring when it comes to names. Think 2 kids with names that have been top 10 for about 5 years......and I dont even blink an eye at Quade. Its a nice name.

I honestly think your family and friends are just downright rude and you would be totally in the right to tell them exactly that!
