    Default Please be kind...

Please do not quote as I may delete later.

Giving a bit of history, dh came up with our ds' name while I was pregnant. At first I wasn't sold as it didn't sound like a name to me. So I did some research. Turns out it is an old name that is gaelic and was last popular 300 or so years ago and is also the name of a footballer. Our ds' name is Quade.

When he was first born all the comments we received were positive and strangers even commented how lovely the name was. However now we are getting comments from family and some friends that they can't believe that we chose his name and how it is bogan and they don't like it.

We don't regret choosing his name as it suits him and i couldnt imagine him with anynother name, but now i wonder what sort of responses he is going to get growing up from children at school and strangers during his professional career.

So I am asking what do you think of his name, please be honest but kind while doing so

It's not my taste, but there's nothing wrong with it. Don't stress and don't let other people's opinions make you second guess yours.

Remember there are children out there named hashtag. You could have done a lot worse

Honestly? I really like the name Quade. I honestly don't thibk it is the kind of name that anyone will tease or make comments about.
How ride of your family and friends! I would be telling them to phuck off. Which I have had to do with my ds name.

    I really really like it.

I would say 'love it' but the only names I really love are the ones we have chosen- for obvious reasons

It is an old Gaelic name, traditionally given to the 4th son, as it means "fourth".

    I don't like it.

But I would never be so rude as to make a comment about someone's name like that. And if I knew you IRL and you asked me, then I'd lie :-) I always trust that people choose names that they love and who am I to question that?

To me it seems like a nice solid name. Certainly not something to tease.
