Certainly some clinics have very strong stance on one embryo only no exceptions some will do 2 if you are over 35. I had two transferred when I was 25. Some clinics also only transfer day five blastys I think they are all as good my son was a day 2 transfer

Yeah I agree though they cannot afford to make these mistakes!!!!
I have high level NK Cells, which essentially means my immune system attacks our embryos thinking they don't belong. The intralipid treatment is designed to suppress the immune system so my embies can implant and grow. It has to be administered 7-14 days prior to transfer. I'm doing a natural FET and start bloods to detect the surge in Wednesday. The issue was if I had a 28 day cycle this time (which I have had in the past) the treatment would have been done too late and would not be effective.

I went through and currently am going through the fertility centre in springwood brisbane they are a sister branch of QFG (QLD FERTILITY GROUP) thry also have lowcost at westmead sydney and if you go onto the fertility centre website you can see where their other clinics are in australia. All the nurses I dealt with at monash left and went to TFC that was my deciding decision yo go through them. Just because lowcost I dont think it equals low level of care in saying that they do not do donor sperm or eggs they are very basic for people who just need emby fertilised and putback where it belongs

We had 2 early mc's last year, the last one being September and nothing since so decided on IVF to try to speed things up and increase our chances. This is our first cycle and I think I will only be able to afford 2 or 3 cycles and that is only by redrawing on my personal loan!!! It will kill me if I have to give up on my dream just because we can't afford the treatment
I mean we will probably keep trying naturally but I don't know our chances.....might just be my eggs are too old but we will keep plodding along 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I would recommend researching lower cost clinics. The success rates I think you'll find are very similar.

    Hi ladies,
My DH & I are about to start our first cycle. im just waiting on my period which is due any day now.
We picked up our meds on Friday which was alittle overwhelming, especially for the hubby.
Thankfully im on a short cycle and i only have one injection (gonal f)for the first week, then depending on my progress we start (orgalutran) thereafter. I am super pleased that everything is premixed.
Our clinic is super helpful and gave us all of our meds and pessaries up front so that we arent impacted by the july changes (where you have to buy your meds from a chemist).

Fingers crossed all goes well and we get some good embroys to transfer.

Good luck to everyone else this month aswell.

Hey. They test on 5 day embryos and they only take a few cells from the outer layer which apparently becomes the placenta.so they say low risk. They only test the healthy ones so they can check if they might turn into a viable pregnancy.so they found out 2 were chromosomally normal and the others have problems with different chromosomes so wouldn't turn into a viable pregnancy. I think it really depends though on how experienced your embryologist is too

Lausey - Thanks for the info on the testing hun, if this FET doesn't work we have an appointment later in the year with 'the great wazza' and its definitely something I want to ask him about.

Bettie - Hope you are feeling better hun, not sure where you are but there seems to be definitely something going round at the moment. Today is the first day since Tuesday I have felt near enough myself again after the gastro. Hope you get over it soon x

Meshell23 - Hope that IVF second time around is much simpler hun as you know what you are dealing with and you get your bfp soon. We are ttc no,2 as well but have had a very long journey after conceiving DD with only the help of injections, over 2 years later here we still are trying to stay positive. I have been told by my clinic hun that they only put one back do to issues with carrying multiples but when my first FET didn't work I asked my fs about putting our two remaining embies back. He seemed happy to do it but did say that if the environment wasn't right then both embryos wouldn't implant and we would loose out on an extra chance with a remaining embryo. This put DH off so we opted for one, and obviously we now don't have a choice as we only have embryo left (now wish we had gone with two).

freakedout - Oh hun how frustrating that you have been so mixed up by your clinic, definitely important that you get your intra-lipids in in the right time frame. I am having them too and have done for the last two cycles, I don't have any known issues but my FS is just throwing them at me as an extra measure.

Myshell87 - Welcome hun, good luck with this first cycle hun. What are the new rules with having to buy your medications from a chemist? Which state are you in? I have been very frustrated in the past when I have found out some of my medications would have been cheaper if I had bought them from the chemist instead of from the clinic.

AFM - Finally fully over the gastro and feeling human again. Thank goodness that didn't happen through the main part of my cycle don't know what would have happened. I have had a few days on the HRT tablets now and first scan Friday.

Heyside I hope you get your positive soon. I had two put in when I conceived my son. But I think the clinic will think because I now have a child that im back in category of one emby only as I didnt conceive first two cycles by third I was very very desperate I went in gave them a huge speel about the risks the positives the negatives etc etc n theybgave in they have already said this time one emby only. Im not freezing any. I only do fresh cycles so my main concern is under a microscope how do they know which emby is the best one to transfer if I transfer two then they woukd put back the best two of the batch resulting in a better chance of conception. I dont know I know people woukd argue the point im pretty headstrong about it. Just remembered the two week wait thats a phase of it all id love to skip
