    Default Formula feeding constipation?

When should you worry if your FF baby hasn't pooped?

It's been 4 days since my DD had a bowel movement. She is 1 month old.

Should I be giving her something or just calling the CHN?

I would be giving her something. What we recommend is 20ml of cooled boiled water just once. Formula is a bit harder for bubs to digest than BM which is why it's important for them to poo regularly - at least every day or 2. The water will help to soften up what is sitting in her bowel and allow her to pass it.

What formula is she on? Some gold formulas have extra iron that clog them up. I used both Heinz Nurture and goats milk formula and didn't have an issue, but when we started on Nan pro gold it was bad.

    She is on heinz nurture

We tried the cooled boiled water with a pinch of brown sugar as suggested by CHN.

She finally pooped yesterday and it was solid nuggets and soooo much of it. Was so sad seeing her struggle with it !!

My paed told me to use one less scoop of formula with every bottle. My bub has not been constipated in 6 months now. For example: 7 scoops to 240ml is now 6 scoops to 240ml.

I wouldn't dilute at 1mo. At 6mo sure. But that baby died recently from diluted formula as it messed up their electrolytes.

Maybe try goats milk formula? It's twice the price of Heinz but is gentler on their tummys.

I wouldn't dilute unless under a Dr's orders and supervision. We just offered DS 20ml cooled boiled water before bottle.

I didn't see that the baby was only 1mo. My apologies.
