Default Early solid positive HPT..how far along or possible twins!?

Hey guys. I usually have a 24 days cycle and am due for my next period in 3 days. I decided to take an early test just in case. Well it and 2 others taken today came back a strong positive. My last pregnancy early test was no where as definite. Just trying to gage how along I might be..? I've also heard that twin pregnancies test strongly early as well.. Already have 4 kids and this is now an oops pregnancy. But of course a blessing if correct.

My 3rd preg came up darker then the control line 5 or so days before af was due. When i showed my dr she was shocked as i still wasn't even due for my af, and mentioned twins was a possibility. A scan at around 7 weeks showed just the 1 baby

You could get a digital test to get an idea of 'weeks' though there is a huge range of normal hcg levels.

    Congratulations!

Is it possible that you ovulated really early? Or perhaps that your last period wasn't actually a 'period'?
I'd go to your GP and get a blood test and find out your HCG! the digital test that says how many weeks you are will do the same thing (on a more basic level.) though too!
Essentially though, 3 days before your period isnt SUPER early - You could be about 11DPO which is often the time women start to get fairly decent lines!

    Congrats!

i got a strong, immediate positive in under a minute with my first pregnancy,
It was a week til my period was due.
    it was a singleton pregnancy,
I got a second strong, visable + 2 days before period with my first ds and I got a strong positive with afternoon urine at 8 days before my period with my second ds,

All singletons my body just does pregnancy tests well

I didnt thing 2 days before a period was particularly early?

When I tested on the day af was due for my first pregnancy, I got a very strong positive before the control line showed and yes- it was twins.

But, like the previous posters had said- the normal levels of hcg can vary so tremendously. Really, the only way to be sure is to have an ultrasound!

    Congratulations

As the others suggested, It's a fallacy to think that a strong line (or a high HCG Level ) always equates to a twin pregnancy.
I had faint lines on FRER's and average HCG levels for all three of my blood tests while a friend had strong lines and ridiculously high HCG levels for hers...

I'm carrying twins, she has a singleton.

When I asked our FS about it he explained that everyone processes hormones differently hence why the difference in results. He did however say it's about the doubling time of HCG results that can indicate the likelyhood of twins.

    Good luck with your BT!
