    So sorry onionskin. I agree with @SuperGranny try and contact someone from the family if you want to. Even just to fill in some gaps in your family history/past.

    My nan got in contact with long lost cousins at the age of 70, long after the passing of her father and found out some family history she never knew and they sent her a few pics.

    Thank you everyone. I am feeling so angry with myself I didn't do this years ago

    For those saying to look for family, that is how I found out he had passed. I managed to find a cousin on facebook. Although they never knew about me they have said they would like to keep in contact. Which is nice, nerve wracking but nice.

    Now to get up the courage to ring my cousin so we can talk but I am so scared of the information I may get. Gosh living in the dark like a mushroom does have it's advantages sometimes.
