Default Skinny jeans, what shoes in winter?

Sorry if this is in the wrong spot!

what do all the other mums wear in the winter with their skinny jeans? I am finding ballet flats too cold and they look rubbish with socks LOL and I've got brown and black just under the knee boots but I think they make me look shorter! I feel like the ballet flats give the impression I am longer in the leg which I like but am stumped as to how to make that look winter friendly?? I'm only short at five foot nothing so illusions of height count lol

Or could you wear your ballet flats with short stockings (you can get ones that are calf length). Keep your ankles a little warmer

Ankle boots are good. I'm also way short so need to pretend I am taller!

On the subject of shoes, I have been looking everywhere for casual leather lace ups. Diana Ferrari supersoft used to make really nice casual lace up shoes but they don't seem to have any. All the shops only have boots, ballet flats, heels or sports shoes and all the store staff say they don't have any this year. What!!?? Has anyone seen any this season?

This is what I'm looking for but lace up and warmer (more enclosed).

I'm short too, I wear ankle boots, higher heel for going out and a lower heel for everyday. I never wear ballet flats ever. Make me look tiny! The boots I wear are similar to below:
